Sell the TT and get a Toy Hauler. You have the exact reason they exist!

I tow a utility trailer behind my ultra-lite Tracer Travel Trailer.
To do so without problems at all, I hired a welder to weld on a heavier bumper, and attach a receiver to the bumper and the frame. Then I purchased a Hensley Arrow Hitch, for the front of the Tracer. Absolutely no sway, and no problems.
I do have a rear view camera, and I have backed up about twenty feet without problems. You just have to think about which direction to make the rear of the travel trailer to go.

Looks to me like you will be at about 44' of trailer. Your states max is 40'.
That aside, a "lite" TT is a poor choice for such a setup.. As you have already noticed, the frame is weak.

First thing you need to do is contact Forest River V-Lite Division and ask 3 questions
1) CAN a 2" receiver be added to my trailer frame
2) What would be tongue weight rating based on my trailer frame
3) How would this affect my trailer frame warranty

FR Contact

Possible answers
1) NO
2) N/A refer to #1
3) VOID

Then you should contact Mississippi Department of Public Safety (601) 359-1406 and inquire about a trailer towing a trailer

Thanks guys I have checked the laws for here in Mississippi and I will be fine with that but my concern was since I have a V LITE model would it be okay to weld to my frame. The frame is not as thick as my older trailer that I had. I do plan on putting a rear camera on the travel trailer to keep a eye on everything.

I had a hitch put on by a local utility trailer manufacture for the Timber Ridge I traded in earlier this year, custom built and installed for a little under $500 with me installing the wire harness myself. I would tow a 5 by 10 utility trailer with a Polaris RZR behind it. Put me at just shy of 64 foot total length, so I was good to go in the areas I like to roam.

I will advise that you really have to plan your routes carefully as backing up is virtually impossible. I also wired a camera system as you can't see the little trailer back there at all unless you're in a fairly tight turn. As mentioned you need to do your research prior to crossing state lines, but that is recommended anyway because towing speeds and a few other things vary from state to state as well.

As for how it towed, on my setup it towed like a breeze. I've seen double setups that didn't track so well however so that's something you'll also have to consider.

Hate to burst your bubble, but first check with state laws where you will be towing. while towing something behind a trailer is legal in a few states, the vast majority require the trailer to be a fifth wheel. Don't know if any states allow towing something behind a travel trailer.

And if it is allowed, the hitch would need to be welded to the frame, not the bumper.

And even then I suspect you would be over the maximum allowed overall combined length. States vary from as low as 55 ft on the east coast to 60-65 which is very common, to a few allowing 75ft.

with our pickup and 32ft trailer, by the time I'm hooked up I'm at 65ft with two bicycles on the back of the trailer. With my 14' cargo trailer, (overall length 19ft) I'd be over 80 ft overall!!
