My wife and I will be camping in the Cherokee National Forest along the Telico River. We will be taking our scooter and riding the Cherohala Skyway, one of our favorite rides, and perhaps swimming in the river.

What has everyone else got planned?

We usually stay home and get the last out of our pool. BUT, this year we are going 4 wheel riding. And yes the park will be packed and hot! LOL

I don't camp on holidays! . . . The campgrounds around here are full on holidays and you can't get a site.

I usually don't camp on holidays, either, but this first year of TC ownership has me itching to go every chance I get. We will be camping and fishing at a lake that is high in the mountains, and that usually keeps the rif-raf out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Some fellow motorcycling friends of mine would always take their vacation in late September / Early October - for the same reason, crowds are non existent, kids are back in school, so everyone that's raising kids is home.

I am going out to my 40 acres next to the Ozark National Forest and check the bear population. I might just carry them some more peanut butter as that appears to be some of their favorite treats.

My son has his Lance 820 parked on the property until after hunting season.

Thanks for the reminder!!! Totally forgot I have monday off so just made plans. As much as I can't stand reserve america I kept refreshing "date range availability" and after about 10 refreshes a kind soul who had booked about 6 months ago canceled their reservation and I just scored beach camping at South Carlsbad for the weekend ๐Ÿ™‚
Crowds don't scare us, just makes boondocking in the winter that much more special.

Hi delosholly! Thanks for posting this question, about the upcoming weekend. We get these types of questions around different holidays, like; โ€œWhat are your plans for Christmas?โ€ The comments roll in.

For me it is fun, but I guess I have pretty tough skin. But then again I have had my share of people not being nice to me, running me over with their cars, stabbing me, shooting at me and on a good day, calling me names. It is good to have you post, but realize it is your question, but OUR forum. Good thing you didnโ€™t ask; โ€œWhat TV is a good one to have in a TC?โ€ Now that one can generate some good โ€œpreaching.โ€ Relax and hope you will join in with us often. (My advice? Stay away from the Tech Forum, they would really hurt your feelings there.)

Me? Like others have said, I will lay low because of the holiday. Not because of the amateurs, but because I have all the rest of the days to enjoy. That way I donโ€™t get in the way of people that have limited time to enjoy their weekend. Like going to the Post Office during the lunch hour, when many working people are trying to just run in and get that task done. For me, I lay low from Memorial Day to Labor Day. For after this weekend, that is when my real exploring begins. For many of the locations I enjoy going are quiet and void of the summer crowds.

But for the time being, I will just be out exploring, riding my scooter, the back roads and trails, for the next few days. Continuing to prove why is it I travel so slowly. Happy Labor Day Weekend to all my friends, on RV.net !
