I also like clicking on the blue billyray50. TC Life always has wonderful trip reports on his family outings and look forward to viewing when he posts them on his link. Never have seen a wiener dog parade before until now. Liked what he bought for his camper as this is hilarious. Good job Rich and keep them coming.

So are you suggesting RV.NET has more time and resources? For whatever reason, RV.NET does not host photos. Flicker does host photos, so you need not add an account, you already have one.

My understanding is RV.NET is provided to discuss RV related issues. It consist of many components.

Seems logical to me.

Because people prefer not to click on a clicky, that makes them lazy? I do not believe that. Could be true with some, but I think very few if any.

I have a photography blog on Wordpress, a photography website on SmugMug, a Flickr account, and my images are on several bands and music festival websites. To have another account on photobucket would be one more account to maintain and I don't have time for that.

One of the purpose of this forum, I believe, is to help others explore our fascinating country abounding in history, geology, festivals, quaint towns and scenery. I publish TRs on my blog so that others may discover what we have found that might appeal to their sense of adventure.

We have just returned from an epic 3+ week trip through 6 western states: WA/OR/NV/UT/AZ/ID. We saw mountain sheep, California condors, the ghost towns of Belmont, Tybo and Silver City, amazing scenery, 3 national parks: Bryce/Cedar Breaks/North Rim Grand Canyon, many state parks like Potholes, Valley of Fire, Cathedral Gorge, national forests, drove a number of USFS roads, Cottonwood Canyon Rd, House Rock Valley Road, explored the valleys/mountains/canyons of Nevada between US Highways 6 and 50, found the Miniature Grand Canyon and geographic center of Nevada, experienced a cattle drive, and found some amazing agates. I shot some of my best images ever at Bryce and Cedar Breaks, paid our respects at Chief Joseph's grave, drove state highways with little traffic and met some fellow travelers, small town folks, ranchers and ghost town inhabitants. We have many recommended places we think merit a visit like the Ruby Mts in Nevada that evoke the Colorado Rockies, etc.

I will post a link to this blog when I am done on this forum. Folks can then follow the link and read and if they want to hear more, they can follow my blog. Then I am done with posting links as I guess some people are too lazy to click on a clicky.

Happy trails to all.

Can there be a sticky for links to people's blogs as TRs? Is there one? Sometimes I miss TRs so can find them in the sticky for the TRs but I would like to see one for those who blog about their TC or any other mode of RV adventuring. Is this possible?
I have no reason to believe upper management would expand what we have. As you are aware, there is a sticky Truck Camper Trip Reports โ€“ V2.0.

It is very time consuming to maintain, and monitored by sabconsulting (a volunteer). Admin would have to address your question on adding another sticky.

I belong to several different Forums and do not have a Blog. My belief is too many people will not look at a report on a blog. I have read this many times on several Forums. Personally, I do not find it too difficult to copy and paste a report on multiple Forums after I create the first one. I appreciate the fact others may not have the skill or time to do that. It was important enough to me to learn, and I will take the time.

Camper_Jeff_&_Kelli, as I previously stated, you are making far too many assumptions, and read into posts. I have no input into the Trip Reports, perhaps you should read the introduction in the Truck Camper Trip Reports โ€“ V2.0. I am not an employee of RV.NET. I have no reason to agree or disagree with your assessment.

I am coming to the conclusion you have an issue with me, and are simply trying to be argumentative. I think it is time you stop.

tc life, enjoyed your blog post. Looks like a fun family trip, and what's more fun than dogs on parade? Canines are good people.

Good tip about that tour. Thanks!

My response was to your question:

Do I understand that correctly that because a forum member writes a trip report on their blog, it won't be listed in the trip reports section?
Moderator

That is the question which remains unanswered.

Reddog1 wrote:

When I looked through the Trip Reports section, I noticed there are no reports listed for The TClife yet he has posted many trip reports. I also noticed I have several RV.NET trip reports listed but nothing from my blog trip reports of which several were also posted here.

The exception being 1 from me and 1 from TC in the Rally section.

So yeah, it looks like trip reports sourced from a blog do not get listed in the trip reports section. That brings back the question why not?

Reddog1 wrote:

I am in agreement that I would appreciate trip reports better if they were posted on the Forum, not linked to a blog.

You being an employee of the forum, I appreciate and would expect that answer. Of course you would like to see reports via the forum. However, whether the report is created on RV.NET or a blog, it is still content and the conversational exchange about the post nearly always takes place on the forum adding to the forum content not the blog so the forum is the winner. It gets needed content and traffic resulting from that content not to mention continued interest for more content.

Yes, I have glanced at it but not much activity there.
Truck camper people seem pretty much only interested in Truck camper activity.

It's really a matter of knowing if you put time into a post, will it be shared as much if it's from a blog. By shared with the forum I mean will it be listed in the trip report section like a trip report created here on the forum?
After looking through the TR section I'd say no, a trip report will not be available for future reference unless it is created on RV.NET.
Do you agree or disagree with that assessment?

Just looking for an answer to a question.
