Nerf bars for 2014 Silverado Crew Cab

I have a new Silverado crew cab and am possibly interested in getting nerf bars or running boards for it. I know nothing about them as my last truck sat lower and I did not need them. I'm looking for recommendations on what to get without going too crazy budget wise. Thanks.

Amp Powersteps are about $1200. Have them on my 2012 2500HD and the lower step in height vs a solid oval or step is perfect. They look pretty bad azz too and chicks dig em. LOL...

Yea I would rather pay the extra few $$ for them then pay a dealer 600 for non retractables.

Frame mount bars are stronger but rocker mount bars typically give you more vehicle clearance.

Which mount type is better, rocker mount or frame mount?

I went with oval bars and am very happy with them. I was amazed at how cheap they are. I think I paid around $225 installed. fwiw, the installation is super easy. I just bought them locally and figured why not let them install them. They guy told me the newer trucks already have holes pre-drilled and you just bolt them on and go. It took him around 30 minutes and he didn't seem to be a hurry ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree- Had 2 sets of powder coat that started looking bad in 2-3 years with MI winters and salt. Traded my 2004 truck with the original Stainless bars still looking like new. Randu

I have the Westins on my truck. Very well made and hold up well.

The OEM ovals on mine are still a bit high. I like the mountings on the OEM's, very solid. Just wish they were about 3" lower.

X2 I've had these on my 1500's also. My 3500 has OEM's. Westins are a good bar.
