Over here in the US, old trucks, tend to climb in value. Actually low mod, farm fresh trucks especially C/K Chevys do really well. Older Certain Fords also gain in value. Heโ€™s got some nice mods on the truck though, I like it, itโ€™s not really dated, just right.....
A truck, a camper, a few toys, but most importantly a wonderful family.

Nice truck BTW.

Thanks!

I haven't towed anything with it yet, but the 4.10s are plenty low for the 35" tires. Honestly one wouldn't be able to run freeway speeds with the OE tires. With the 35s it's about 2700 rpms at 65 mph giver take. Speedo hasn't been recalibrated, so quick check with tach and gps on phone on a county road. Would be nice to run 37s just to drop a couple hundred more rpms but 35s are the right size for that lift IMO.

It moves out quickly and will roast the tires fairly easily with a mild brake stand.

It does have a 454 though. Motor sounds stock, but it's got double the power of an emissions era 350.

Thanks Ben and openspaces.

Just looked up the parts, super simple and cheap! OE looking switch is $11, will be replacing that just because the old one looks...old. And under $60 for the valve.
So based on what you said Ben, one would think that the valve (coil) would last longer if it was energized less of the time. IE, if running off of both tanks, better to run off the one that does not energize the coil?

And to that, presume that when the tank selector is on the energized tank, when the ignition is shut off, the power to the tank relay or tank switch is turned off with the ignition and the valve defaults back to the "de-energized" tank position.

IE, de-energized tank empty, running on energized tank, turn truck off, valve moves back, if coil dies, valve stays on empty tank?

Very observant RR.... Considering it's 35 years old, that is an accurate statement.

Not original wheel. Good possibility the steering wheel came from the same truck that the engine did. Sorta like it better than the 80's steering wheels, will probably leave it.

Nice truck. Better get some new gas credit cards.
When you start pulling, all of that lift and big tires can cause some problems.

I had to once replace the tank valve on my Bronco. I used a Pollack valve which both switches the fuel as well as the sending unit. Something like this although I think I bought it straight from Pollack at the time. Link

If the valve ever fails I'll buy another as it has worked for many years for me.

Edit, I just noticed that the valve I linked is listed as 3 port, but there are two ports for returning fuel to the tanks. So the picture is of an efi switching valve but the description is for a carbureted valve which would not have a return line. Just saying be sure to get the correct part if you replace.

Know this before you dig in, so you'll know what to look for

Tank switch is a single pole, double throw

When the switch relay coil is NOT energized, the valve has one tank line opened to the carb.

When the switch relay coil is energized, the valve switches to the other tank

Electrical gremlins had my dash fuse blow often...after...buddy who owns a speed shop build a custom 350 (Edelbrock Performer dual plane intake, Performer 4 barrel {should have kept the quad, liked it better}, 280 cam, 3 angle grind SS valves, ported/polished/CC matched/flowed heads, shotpeened anything ferris, forged rods, TRW pistons and a few other things forgot) and had his wife's cousin (who couldn'd get a job anywhere else put it in...he shorted and blew the fusable link...so every so often the dash fuse would blow

First time...took a while to find the right fuse...there after, knew...but it would blow the spare quickly

Since the un-energized tank was empty, no fuel

Learned to use the energized tank, run it dry...then switch to the un-energized tank and drive home with no dash lights

I had a K-30 SRW 4X4 with a 6.2L. Mine had that lighter blue on the top and dark blue at the bottom. I loved the truck. I put 225K on it, should have never sold it. They didnt make them any better Dana 60 up front, 14 bolt in the rear, 205 gear drive transfer case, TH400 auto tranny. I had dreams of finding another and putting a Dmax and a Allision in it. Hard to find a SRW K-30 in those years.

Missed a 1/2 ton 87 TBI a couple weeks ago. Same condition with a really bad black paint job. TBI and OD would have been nice as our boys daily driver.
Oh well this truck is meaner!
