It appears the 2016 Nissan Titan with 5.0L V8 Cummins Twin Turbo is now available.

Not having a Nissan Dealer anywhere close by I have only seen articles about it.

Later this year you will see the price drop... the early ones are all loaded.... also the 5.6l gasser get's direct injection (like the Infiniti engine) and several cab options. They say a v6 gasser is coming as well.... We have a fully loaded one on our lot... I think it's an ugly truck but it does drive great... very very nice inside.

Sticker for our is 61k. 4x4 plat reserve.

What's the invoice price & how much for dealer holdback?

I don't know the sales side of it, I work in service. Sorry...

Today I went and took my wife's beater (06 Altima) for another one of my free lifetime oil changes. The dealer had 3 XD's in stock. They had a huge cardboard display showing it towing a gooseneck. $57,800. It was very nice on the inside. Just shows what 10 years can do compared to my King Ranch, but that price and capacity. Salesman and I talked for awhile. I just don't see these things selling as they should because of those two things. Its just to high priced for such limited cargo capacity. I would sure drive one as my daily though, if the price came down.

Maybe so, but I can go to Idaho and get a crew cab 4x4 Ram Ecodiesel equipped the way I want for $35K. I doubt I could touch a Nissan XD for less than $45K, and on paper the Nissan doesn't offer a whole lot more. I think the XD platform has lots of potential, but to make it really shine competitively they need to add 500 pounds of payload and drop $5K off the price.

You're speculating.

As are you. Everyone is speculating here. We get your point, you think the Titan will be a popular truck.

Being the first year for a truck, prices will tend to be firm. It's the case with any all-new 1st year run of vehicles (I personally don't understand why people pay so much to be the guinea pig). But after the first year, then the incentives start to trickle in, whether they're published or left in the "Back-end" for the dealer to fudge with. Even the RAM Ecodiesel commanded high prices when they first hit the market. Now there's enough of them where supply and demand are pretty much in tune and prices aren't so firm anymore.

Nissan should have went all the way and made it a 2500 series truck and marketed as such. Even a 3500 version. I've been waiting for the competition, and now that prices are entering the ridiculous, it is long overdue.

You're assuming the mileage is worse than the ecoboost and V8 competition. Assuming the ride is worse. Assuming the buyer wanted to step up to an HD/SD.

Your comparison assumes that the buyers are the same. They are not, at least not yet. Is the High Country 6.2 buyer going to want a Nissan XD that doesn't ride like his 1500 and doesn't pull anymore or carry any more? Same goes for all these half ton gas buyers in this market. They are spending near top of the line Diesel money already. I think if this buyer wants a diesel, it wont be a Nissan with its half ton gas specs and worse mpg. They will spend the additional money and get an HD diesel. Nissan is banking on some sort of conversion of mentality in this market. If there is one they will be a hero and if not they will end up a zero. Time will tell.

Median price is $59,759.

These are base prices for those packages, no options other that top powertrain.

Of note, the 6.7l cummins is now a $8,995 option. The Aisin is only available in 3500 and is an additional $2,495 option. The Titan XD you get a smaller Cummins and an Aisin included in the price above.
