Note to self: when hooking up the stinky slinky extension to the drain that is 20 ft away it is best to hook up both ends...one to the end coming off the trailer, the other to the elbow that goes into the drain. If one of these is not connected and you go to dump your black tank the waste DOES NOT make it to the drain without a lot of work and rubber gloves.

And FYI, the stink beside your TT doesn't dissipate while you are at the CH.

note to self;If you have one of the battery operated bug zappers that look like a tennis racket

When you see a red light after kicking the racket in a dark trailer ...think before you take the next step onto the racket saying "what is that red light"

I had a grid pattern burn mark on the bottom of my foot and my wife and kids still laugh about this three years later

Ps I think I have done at least 1/2 of the stupid things listed in this thread.

Note to self: Before you leave for a trip, make sure that you have all of your keys. "Someone" in my family left both sets of camper keys on our kitchen counter at the house and realized it after I had backed into our camping spot. Could not disconnect the trailer from the truck... 2.5 hours from home.

Needless to say, momma was not happy with me on that one.

Note to self: Never put your son's friend's week-worth of dirty laundry in a trash bag in the back of the truck on the way home from a campground, then put your trash in the dumpster before you hit the road.

Note to self. If you ever want to use your hose Y valve again, do not leave it on the tap three campgrounds ago. Glad I didn't leave a filter. Dave

Note to myself. And make sure there isn't a partial sack of potatoes sitting on the floor under the dinette booth after a trip! Or that sack of potatoes sitting on the pantry floor in the house before leaving for a long trip!

Oh I can do one better than that, make sure you don't leave a sack of Potatoes in the TT and then not go camping while it bakes in the July and August heat for 60 days. Don't ask me how I know. :S

In my case I was still a newbie and I didn't have my WD dialed in. I managed to tow it 2 hours through mountains to a state park without problems because the weight of the tongue kept it in place. No harm done but boy was I shocked when I noticed it wasn't there...

Love these! I am now in charge of staying outside to remove chocks when dh pulls up two inches to release them. Also my job to secure things on trailer. Open dish soap sloshing around the floor for two hours makes A huge mess.
