We have been looking at the Open Range Journeryer 340flr. Love the floor plan. We have researched the Journeryer and like the way it's is built. We saw this trailer this weekend. Primetime LaCrosse 327res. We don't know anything about Primetime or the LaCrosee units.

Does anyone have any opinions on this unit compaired to the Journeryer?

I agree. That is one thing I don't like about our OR.

All I can say is WOW. We haven't made a decision yet as in the 2016 Open Range they put a blue stripe on them and don't like it. I know it's petty but the blue stripe just stands out.

We are looking around again, been looking on the web at Outdoors RV - Blackstone model. But there is not any dealers close they are all out west.

Our Rockwood is working for us right now, we have had it 8 years and it could work for several more years. Nothing wrong with it. So the search continues.....

I have a primetime avenger.we love it . First trip the slide switch failed. Other that issue .its been pretty good. We just completed our first year and have around 3000 miles on it . Its gotten better and we are happy. Wish we had the dbs instead of the bhs due to the ladder .double door maybe but we paid 21k new on a 32k stickered RV so not really too much to complain about. Coming from a popup I would think it was huge and struggle backing up . Now after a year I tke it into questionable spots and park it.

I wish we has more time to camp ?.

We have a 2011 Open Range Journeyer 337 RLS. It has had a boatload of problems. The awning pulled away from the sidewall about 4 ft long on the back half. The screws holding it attached was only put into the sidewall and not into any structural member within the wall. There was a leak down the wall at the big back window. Took it back to dealer 2 times and they said that they could not duplicate the leak and therefore could not do any sealing to stop the leak. I sealed everything on the back of the trailer myself and stopped the leak.
Furnace- Had to have the sail switch changed on the furnace. Furnace is still very weak and once the furnace turns on it never turns off and eats lots of propane. It will heat, go into its cool down mode and the comes right back on. Furnace seems to be undersized for the size of the camper. Airflow out of the furnace vent is very weak. There is no dedicated air inlet for the furnace. I emailed Open Range and asked them how the air gets to the furnace and they emailed me back and said that the return vent is under the refrigerator. I have a drawer under my refrigerator, not a return vent.

Shower drain- The shower stall is not adequately supported and due to flex in the shower pan the shower drain pipe broke 3 times and flooded the entire enclosed underbelly 3 separate times. After the third repair the dealer told me that I need to reinforce the shower pan to eliminate the shower pan flex. Almost impossible to get to anything under the shower pan. Also due to the shower pan flex it caused a pressure water line to pull loose and flood the under belly also.

Carrier Heat Pump/air conditioners- Real POS, would not adequately cool trailer and was constantly in shop for either not heating or cooling. Finally one month before my 2 year warranty expired Open Range allowed my dealer to replace the Carriers with new Coleman heat pumps. They were originally going to replace the Carrier heat pumps with a regular non heat pump AC. I told them no that I had paid for heat pumps and I wanted them replaced with heat pumps.

Decals- This is my 6th trailer/5th wheel I have owned in the last 19 years. I have never had any trouble with decals before. I do not know where Open Range gets their decals, but they are the worst I have ever had. I had to take the "Open Range" logo off all 4 sides because they were peeling and curling so bad.

My dealer stopped carrying Open Range products. I asked them why and they said that they had to because the quality was so poor and that the warranty work was killing them.

I would not buy another Open Range. I think we are are going to downsize and buy a good quality small trailer, Maybe a Lance.

What kind of problems are you having? Ours has been great so far (fairly new) and I have heard nothing but excellent reviews of the company itself. Just wondering what you are running into.

I'm curious too. We have had our OR for about 2 and a half years with very few and simple problems. Have never had to take it back to dealer for warranty. Jayco is also an awesome manufacturer so I think it was a good merger. Both have 2 year warranties. Not many others can offer that. Our family has had many RV's from Lance Truck Campers to Winnebago Class A and our Open Range is by far the best built.

See our sig. Run away from OR. They sold out to Jayco in the fall of lasr year. Theyno longer support warranty and last two years of production is shoddy at best. It's been in dealers shop more often than our yard. Great floorplan but too many issues. Dealer can't even get factory to support repairs let alone replacement.

One thing to consider is that Open Range has a 2 year warranty, rather than the typical 1 year warranty. Open Range also has a pretty good reputation for standing behind their warranty.

We have a 2014 Open Range travel trailer that we've stayed in for around 80 nights and pulled around 11K miles in our 1.5 years of ownership. Only issue we've had is that the black tank handle got stuck open once. Covered under warranty. Otherwise it's been a great unit.

Of all the slides I've ever owned, the cable system is by far the least complex. It's one of those things that is genius in it's simplicity. A lot of folks don't understand how it works and don't like it because they can't figure out how a cable can both push a slide out and pull a slide in.

x2. Cable system is by far the easiest to maintain and repair if needed. We have had zero problems with our slides but I know how to work on them if needed.

I know it well...it came out in late 80's and sucked. Still has cable breaking issues. It is also much more complex then either motor or hydro driven rams with rack and pinion.
