Does anyone have experience or an opinion on this for a 19 ford Diesel?

Correct, but the operator regen requires a program change, and Ford offered that only on lower trim models, at least in '15. Makes no sense whatsoever, I would hope that the program change could be made by the dealer.

I think because it was primarily for fleets which typically would have the lower trim levels. It is nice if it is now an easy option for the general consumer.

It has been a fleet option for a while (maybe for first responders). More operator control and feedback is always welcome in my opinion.

It's around $200, a drop in the bucket considering what these trucks cost.

My Edge CTS2 would allow me to force a regen if it was still there. Not sure if it would work on your PSD.

Mine unfortunately runs when the computer determines it's necessary. Having had it kick on while idling, I can only say I hope that never happens again. I have had it kick on while pulling into the driveway or when arriving at a destination and the offensive odor emitted is one to avoid. It would be a terrific thing to be able to plan ahead for a regen as long as it doesn't get delayed until problems occur. Trying to guess when it is coming in the older trucks is seemingly impossible, except that it rarely happens when towing as the extra heat inside the exhaust helps keep it cleaner. For those with the 19s, I would get the program.

I have a 19 and yes you cam manually turn in on. It's explained in the owners manual. Read about it last week but forgot how. Would have to read about it again if I were to try it.

To the best of my knowledge, Ford does it's re-gen while going down the road or at dealer. In fact, I'm not sure of any pick up that you (owner) can do a manual re-gen. Semis you can, but don't think so of pick-ups.

It's available as an option on the new trucks.

On the 15s you can add the screen showing the dpf level and turn on a manual gen using forscan or have your dealer add it. I've added the dpf level screen to my dic on my 17 but I think the only way to get a manual regen option is to find a dealer that knows how to do it.
