Received a notice of a ecm reflash 2 weeks ago. After having it done, that night going to work a notice came up saying diesel particulate filter @ 90% please drive at highway speeds when safe. Have never seen that before the reflash but I do know all the DEF diesel trucks will do passive regens every 200-300 miles. In the Ecodiesel you are not notified until you hit the active regen or your filter is at 90%.
Wounder if the EPA made some changes that drove the reflash?

If it keeps doing it take it back to dealer and tell them. It could have been an issue with the reflash. Part of the reflash was for the emissions, and it could be causing yours to regen more than it should. After the reflash my miles per gallon went up for about 2 months, then I started getting a lot of regens like you, and some lasted for over 15 minutes, and the MPG's went down. It then settled back down, but does regen more often which is because of the reflash. Dealer said if it gives me more trouble to bring it in and they will check it.

I have a 2012 Duramax that regens like a mofo (every 150-200mi) since the day I drive it home. Doesn't really make much difference if city or highway driving. Most see 5-700mi under similar conditions which is what I would consider normal for the LML. There are several on the Dmax forum with trucks like mine and the only response we can get from GM is no code-no problem. Really??? Then why does that guys truck go 2-3x mine? I am aware of all the cited reasons that can affect regen frequency but my personal opinion is they have minimal affect at best, but definately not 2-3x. Many of us have come to the conclusion we have leaking injectors causing dirty running trucks which would make since why GM doesn't want to admit a problem. Many guys with these frequent regen trucks who got fed up and deleted are now seeing how dirty they run vs a non-frequent regen truck running the same delete tune. GM is simply hiding behind the DPFs on these trucks claiming there is no problem. I know this is about GM but I can't believe Ram and Ford aren't dealing with the same.

Had my '12 F450 pulling a 5'th wheel TH up to Pennsylvania and down to the Key's and back. Have never noticed any regen notification at all. You see too many, I see nothing. Reason?

Dirty Oil
I buy fuel at same station unless towing on vacation. Never noticed the oil pressure gauge as it never caught my attention. Will check on it.
Had reflash about 3 months ago and only the past few weeks noticed the more frequent regens.
Camped about two weeks ago and towed about 250 km round trip.
Also test towed a toy hauler on Monday for 30 km.
Regular usual driving though. No pulling hills since the past trip 12 days ago.
walker111, if your not making oil (due to cracked leaky injector). maybe load the truck up heavier the better and get out on QEII or #1 for a few hundred km get that exhaust system hot and cleared out...possibly?... head up to Edmonton, check out, ousted mayor and former health minister Stephen Spendall's silver balls... if your into art!? :B

Hi guys.
Seems my 2012 6.7 litre f350 has all of a sudden loved the regeneration thing!
I am talking 4 straight days I get the screen prompt " cleaning exhaust filter" while still on same tank of fuel?....
I always kept it finish when started as I did have an issue with sensors in the first year of ownership and learning Diesel patterns. I even reset the trip meter when regen starts to know it is within range of completion.
For what it's worth truck runs great during entire process.
Anyone have this happen?
I did have the latest reflash at dealer as per letter sent from Ford.
Thanks
