Replace kitchen faucet with a household pull down?

HeyJude

We have a typical sized sink and I would like to replace the faucet with a pull down spray. Has anyone done this, and what did you use? It seems like the faucets at the big box stores are all large and will look big and bulky? Any suggestions and photos would be much appreciated!

We replaced ours years ago with a quality faucet from a big box home store (HD or Lowes?). We had to drill a third hole for the sprayer because DW liked the tall faucet for filing pots and such. We have had no problem with it.

RV Faucets with Sprayers

Jim

Thanks for the link. I got my 2 favourites in my "Wish List". Now I just have to convince the wife, but that will have to be in a couple months. Recently spent about $800 on the trailer and to spend another $150 for a nice faucet when the existing one is perfectly fine is a tall order (even for me, actually).

Defacto standard supply line fittings were always 1/2" IPS. Some faucets are now made with 3/8" compression fittings. Check the faucet set before purchase so you will know what, if any, fittings will be needed for the installation.

Our new 2104 KZ came with a pull-down faucet but it isn't home at the moment so I can't go look to see the brand. HD or an RV parts vendor would work, but if you want top quality, I'd go to a plumbing wholesaler. You'll need to know what your present one looks like underneath and what hole spacing is. The flexible hose has a weight attached to it and the hose needs to hang free. I would check to see if there are any obstructions in the way you'll need to relocate like water lines.

We replaced the factory faucet with a nice upgraded pull out from Lowes.

Make sure you have a place below for the weight that's used to "retract" the hose. We have drawers directly under the faucet, but we were able to make it work.
If you receive help from other members, don't forget to update your topic with the results.

We also replaced the cheesy faucets in both our ROO and Rockwood. Yes, they are standard Lowe's/Home Depot products. Are you thinking the faucet that the main water supply is also the sprayer/hose or the type with the separate sprayer? We added the separate sprayer on both of ours and find that we don't have quite as good water pressure at many campgrounds. If you're thinking the single faucet/sprayer, you may also have that problem. Just depends on our location. BTW, it's about a 2-brew job since mid way the installer has to untwist and give his break a back, lol.

Any house style will work. Just make sure the hole pattern is the same. I replaced our cheap RV faucet with one from HD. Also added a soap dispenser. Just needed to drill a new hole in the counter top for the dispenser.

I just did one Like This By Phoenix
My old one looked like this from the bottom and the new one had the same lines on it so it was easy to hook up.

I would stay with the Phoenix brand, the Dura Faucets did not have the same connections and you had to get a lot of extra parts to make it work.

Not sure what you consider big and bulky but Home Depot has a Glacier Bay (their brand) pull down for $88 with single handle. You want the spout to swing over the sink sufficiently to fill a container without having to use the sprayer which would tie up one hand.
