RV Washing

We are on the road all the time, we have no residence. Most RV parks will not let you wash your RV. I have used truck stops that charge from 75 to 125 dollars and do a terrible job. What do most do?

Waterless wash products. Spray on, wipe off. Most of the dirt on rigs is dust anyway, not hard, scratchy dirt. Most campgrounds don't want the water used, or the mess, neither of which comes with a waterless wash. I know some people with rigs that are 7 years old, they've never seen soap and water.... and look great.

I just started using Wash/Wax All... It's waterless and works unbelievable ..... I now buy the concentrate bottles and mix it myself...

After reading this I went online and bought some. Can't wait till i get it to see if I can make my Jayco shine before my trip to the beach.

If it's been a particularly muddy or dusty trip I'll use the pressure washer at home to knock the big chunks off. Just be sure you don't use too tight of a nozzle. Beyond that driving thru rain helps keep things clean enough.

The campground we stay at snowbirding doesn't mind if the long-term folks wash their rig within reason. That said, if it rains while we're traveling, I take out a brush and wash away. In addition, many campgrounds will let you wash your rig for a $5 charge. Camp on!

That is the method I use, the groundsman will wash my my RV with the cleaner I provide and check the roof while cleaning. This spring he told me "he had found two areas that the caulking was starting to weather".

We get washed at the Blue Beacon truck washes, don't think we've been charged more than $65 and we have almost the same MH as you. Sometimes, because of all the calcium in the water out west, you'll get some white streaks after you start driving from water running off of the roof. Usually we'll drive from the wash area to the truck stop area and then wipe off any streaks if water ran off of the roof.

Drive really fast in a light hail storm. Really I'm with you on this. Even in the sites that say NO CLEANING I've been known to get the simple green and a ladder and clean the front cap at least before the bug carcasses putrefy on the fiver. I like the idea of a mobile washer unit guy/gal coming around and cleaning for a fee. It isn't cheap and if I hitting the road the next day I would pass but if I'm staying a while it is a good deal.

A lot of areas have a "coin-op" truck wash, RVs fit very nicely. There is one about 20 miles from the house, and I spotted (and used) one in Drumheller Alberta (after some rain, and red-dirt roads)

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

I figure it will rain eventually. If I wanted my rig washed bad enough, I would have a bucket and some car soap at the ready and wash in the rain...

I use a bucket and do a small section at a time.I don't use a hose to wash and rinse. I have never had an issue. It does not get the best job but certainly gets the worst part. Having someone wash it can be very expensive as mentioned.
