I was going to buy new tires before the winter weather came around, but the prices were kind of high so I decided to wait...well, prices are higher now and going up! Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear all north of $300/tire with some of the better tires at or a little over $400/tire :E

$ 1575 for a set of toyo AT3 just last week and that is just the rubber sitting in my garage as my winters are on. LT 275/65 20 for a 2017 350. that is 300 better than any price I could even find up here in the North country.
Shopping wheels now and with sensors looking at around another 2200.
here is the kicker for me..... In the past year... new Sailun on my toyhauler, new Carlisel on my drift boat trailer, new winter blizacks for the truck and now the toyos....ouch!!!! if you want to play you have to pay.

I agree with looking for trade-ins. I can buy a new set of 4 275/65 18lt with factory ford rims for about $800 in New Glaris WI. That is cheaper than just the tires locally and the tires are mounted and balanced.

And you can stock up on Spotted Cow!

Great size for HD 4x4s on 20s. And they have historically been cheaper than other more โ€œpopularโ€ sizes.

Paid around $800 for a set of 4 Goodyear tires in the fall. The OEM set lasted me 70K miles so went with the same.

Right now Goodyear is offering $260 off a set of 4. Didn't read the details as I am not in the market. But saw the add in my email. With Goodyear you can buy online and have them delivered to the local shop for install. you even pay install up front. So only add if you need other services like alignment.

Walmart had the best deal out there when I bought my Toyo tires back in September 2021.

It is easy to find good tire deals in Reno. Tire stores big and small are everywhere including Sams, Costco, Discount Tire, Les Schwab, Big O, Tires Plus just to name a few plus many many tiny tire shops. Many of us my age have been thru this 1970s inflation binge and learned from it. Cheers to the brave

Never had an issue with off brands and they are a lot cheaper typically.

Last set for the F250 was $600 out the door from discount tire. (might be a bite higher today but unlikely to be $1200)

I agree with looking for take offs; I see them quite regularly here on Craigslist and Marketplace. Unfortunately there were none available for my truck last year when I was looking. We had a longer distance camping trip coming up and I didn't want to chance my 8 year old tires towing in the heat. I ended up putting on new Michelins to the tune of $2k; and of course now there are 2 sets of new Michelin take offs on Craigslist for $1k...:S

Go to Discount/America's Tire and tell them you have been shopping Costco. They will do better.

Yes, tires are really costly, so much more than before.

I just had to put new rubber on my dually a month ago. The Michelins were done and I could not wait any longer.

Cost me $1956.08! Yikes, the most I've ever paid. Oh well, hope the new ones last as long as the previous set. 129,599K or 80,599 miles.

There comes a time when you just gotta change them.
