If that's true then I'd put in a battery disconnect switch. No battery, no start.

Great solution for a 1975 RV.
Not a great solution for a new car / daily driver.

Considering the risk of a vehicle running in a garage, which I learned about guessing 1965, long before I had garage, I would rather deal with battery disconnect.
Of course, if it was mine I would just park outside.

And benefit of the doubt that busdriver would not be trying to fix this issue if it was due to him butt dialing his truck with the key fob in his pocket. Sheesh…

Going back to your original post. It might have been asked but never answered. Do the dash lights all flash if you use your remote and start the truck?
If yes the dash lights all flash I would suspect you accidentally started it with the keys in your pocket.

If no the dash lights do not all flash then I would go back to the dealer with it as something is not right.

Actually Busdriver hasn’t answered the question as to where the key fob were when the truck started on its own. The signals from the key fobs are coded so likely accidentally tapped the fob in the pocket.
Someone mentioned leaving to hood open, I had a failure to remotely start the other day I had put some stuff in the back seat, and had not gotten the door fully closed. I do know that if not all doors are fully closed when driving, not only do I get the little icon on the instrument panel, also the interior lights stay on. Not sure if they would time out if truck not running.

Yes they time out. On every newer car and truck I’ve been around. Including one like yours.

Do an internet search. Duromax trucks appear to have this issue and it's not due to accidental hitting of the remote, etc.

I would absolutely go back to the dealer and get a better answer than "probably a wifi signal nearby".

Yeah, I mentioned that early on. Neither mine nor may Dad's 2015's flash any lights on the dash when remote started.

Make sure you get that in writing from the service writer, so your next of kin can use it as evidence when your truck starts again in the garage in the middle of the night, you don't notice it, and it fills the house with CO.

Be very plain with the service writer that this is a very dangerous situation, and that his answer is not acceptable.

Right?
I’d believe our POTUS right now over most car dealer service schmucks….
Funny first hand story. Buddy (who is automotively illiterate and not mechanically inclined by most accounts) bought a new $35k Polaris Razr just recently. Few local around the subdivision rides, it never ran right, went into limp mode etc. He took it back to the dealer for repair.
They gave it back to him and said they fixed it. Apparently when he dropped it off they asked him what kind of gas he put in it. He told them non ethanol premium. They told him they cleared the codes and limp mode was due to using the wrong type of fuel…. (Can’t make this shite up!)
But they did drain the tank and put some “regular” gas in it. No warranty. Charged him to “fix” it.
Fast fwd a couple weeks he’s family is at the dunes with another family friends of ours (the other friend is one of the best mechanics I’ve known and lives for power sports Toys).
Immediately the brand new Razr throws codes and limp mode. Other buddy actually pulls the code. It’s for a misfire.
Pulls the spark plugs and one of them was smashed with basically zero gap. And obviously been in there for a while. Coated with fuel and fouled on one side and goobered up from basically not firing.
1 new spark plug and it was good as new. Ran great the rest of the weekend.
Hadn’t run right prior from the time he brought it home new and tried to take a rip around the block on it.

Love dealer service departments….

Busdriver, how about a little more detail.
Where were your trucks key fobs? If in a pocket or purse, we’re the being move, if yours in a pocket was there other stuff in that pocket. Did you have kids or person your lap?
Personally I believe through some activity you were doing, you managed to create the correct key sequence.

How about a neighbor kid who stuffed some coin cell batteries up his nose after downing an energy drink, while wearing a tinfoil hat?

Probably neighbors have remote start for their vehicles.

Like house keys, one key fits many houses....Many devises use the same frequency.

pretty much gone are the days where remotes shared frequency and codes. Cars today all use some form of rolling codes with encryption for a specific VIN number to get around random interference. Much less likely to have a remote that opens the doors and starts the car than a physical key that does so.
