What is a "Small TT"?

Are they just short in length, or are they the cool new ones with non-conventional shapes and configurations? Our new trailer is small, but it is very much a normal travel trailer: bed, dinette, kitchenette, and bath in a big box. Is it considered a "Small TT"?

I guess it's small when folks say "is that for your dogs?"

My 19' Terry is a bit small. I'd love a queen size bed.

As this newb sees it, trailers follow entropy ๐Ÿ™‚

I wouldn't call that small, I'd call it Cozy ๐Ÿ˜‰

What's the definition of small? Maybe if people point at it and laugh. Or maybe when it is much smaller than the tow vehicle. Ours is less than 12 feet long, a total of 77 square feet inside (11 by 7). It's real cozy in cold weather -- we keep it heated with a candle:

Small is , well .....
Listed as 12ft , probably a little closer to 13 on actual measurement. That is a Tip of Tongue to back edge of the Bumper ! I see some 13 ft and 14 ft , sometimes just the Box , other's the whole trailer . As stated , guess it all depends on the Manufacturer and up to the buyer to get the Real Details.
Camp On ! ... preferably the Beach .

I don't know if there is an exactly definition of a "small TT" but, to me, I know one when I see one.

Here's mine.

A small TT can be pulled by a small vehicle, would have a single axle, and would sleep a small family at best.

DW definition is completely different, we had a 23', tandem axle, #4800 empty TT which she said was small.
This is fun!

So--I can assume when a 24ft trailer is advertised it may just be from the ball to the bumper instead of the actual box? I guess bring a tape measure along.

From what I have found, you can't assume anything. It's amazing how many different ways to measure an RV are out there - which way used is dependent upon what the person measuring wants to accomplish. The manufacturer usually has both measurements available, but the seller often lists one or the other interchangeably as "RV length". If you're lucky, you find the two measurements listed side by side.

Here in the states, I think Basic and Big are the most common lengths overall. Petites are more common for TTs - it used to be a popular size for class Cs, but now they are pretty much all over 24ft.
