going on my first big outing in two weeks. Adirondacks in NY.. old forge... they do have black beer. Current camper has indoor three burner stove. Just getting epinions on who cooks inside, or who cooks outside? I have a two burner coleman stove that I think im gonna take with me. im not sure I really want to do a lot of cooking inside camper besides boiling water.. I imagine cooking bacon or frying steak inside will linger smell wise even though there is a powered vent right there.. how do you guys do it? do you utilize your inside stove, or cook mostly outside? im just looking for epinions, that's all..thanks

I never understood the concept of not using the stove because of smell or keeping it clean. That would be like me cooking everything in my back yard at home because I don't want my house to get dirty or smell. Trailers have windows and fans just like home. same for the trailer bathroom.

I bought it to use it ๐Ÿ˜‰

For camping, if it's a grill type food I cook on a gas grill outside just like at home. Any stove top foods, baked foods or microwave food gets cooked inside just like home.

We don't really eat much fried foods anyway, so grease splatter isn't an issue. For the occasional bacon, I buy the precooked kind and either microwave it or warm it up in a pan

I full time and I cook inside 99% of the time just like I did in my s&b. I do grill outside about as much as I did when living in my home.

This is my home and it does have all of the comforts so why not use them, as was stated previously.

Dre, I hear you about camping but lets face it ... what we do is not camping. Dragging a trailer outfitted with the creature comforts that we have, hauling all our junk to a campground or wherever just so we can approximate living at home while being in the woods ...? That's not camping. To me camping is "showing up wherever with all your gear on your back or even in your vehicle, setting up a tent and living it rough".

So since we are not camping (but are RVing) and since we have our amenities, why not use them? Paid good money for it all not to be used. ๐Ÿ™‚

We rarely use the oven or stove. If you were tenting, would you cook inside the tent? For us all the cooking is done outside, rain or shine........under the awning if we have to.
Camping is camping and you have to rough it a bit.......

we used to cook all the time on the fire, until there was a fire ban. we drove back to town, bought a bbq an went back to camping. now breakfast is done indoors by my wife, to many pans on the go. and dinner is done on the q by me, man grillin. the ten oclock nighttime snack goes on the open fire, chips n cheese or chicken wings done by my son. don't forget the jiffypop just because.

I do all my cooking in the camper. I use either the microwave or my digital pressure cooker. I don't like to bother with gas. I have not had any lingering smells in the camper that I have noticed. Food smells don't bother me anyway, and bears are not an issue around here.

Some trips, I don't cook at all. I grab bread and a jar of peanut butter. Food on a trip is not that important to me. I am more concerned about having a good supply of coffee for my Keurig!

Cook outside in the summer as much as we can and inside in the winter.
It's hard enough to cool it in the summer without adding more heat ๐Ÿ˜ž

We camp Old Forge. We cook inside and out mostly out. The bears are not that big of an issue. I would cleanup and stow your gear. Don't leave food outside.

Unless the weather is very bad we cook outside on the coleman 2 burner and the Lil Smokey grill. We do make coffee in the am inside on the stove or the nuke if we have power. We try to avoid raising the humidity inside, hence the Coleman. We do almost always eat inside.
And yes, I've seen black beer in the ADK's.

I use a Coleman combination grill/one burner stove to cook outside. The only thing I "Cook" inside is coffee, or a meal if it is raining. No built in oven, but I carry a Crusinart TOB155 toaster oven. Big enough for a 12" pizza, but only useful if I have hookups. It is nice to be able to use it outside to keep from heating up the trailer. Of course, my inside is a bit smaller than most.

As far as I'm concerned,it's not campin' if you're not cooking outside.

Have never turned on the Oven. Have never turned on the stove top. Bought a cutting board at CW that sits on top. Only cooking in the MH is either in the slow cooker or microwave. Anything that needs a flame is taken outside for grilling.

We do both. If the weather is decent then we will cook outside but if it isn't then we cook inside.
