4th July Trips?

Heading to Seven Lakes state campground for the holiday. Planning on fishing,relaxing,eating,relaxing,hiking and relaxing. I'll have to make sure to relax when I get home. Where are you going???

I've often had people tell me the CG's are too crowded during holidays but I don't see it. Our state CG's are full every weekend so a holiday is no different.

We stay home on those types of holidays and weekends. The campgrounds near enough to go are usually slammed at those times and we don't find that relaxing. Staying home is quieter for us because the neighborhood is empty.

Pomme de Terre lake July 3rd-6th.. got the last spot last night. I may regret that probably a reason for it. Oh well first holiday at a campground typically avoid it.

I worked out of Siloam (just south of Mt Airy) for the better part of a decade (was a long haul driver for Hardy Brothers Trucking down there),it would make for a cool trip,IMO,especially if you're an Andy Griffith fan. Have fun 🙂

We'll be heading down to Pigeon Forge (TN-not far,only around 3 hours),leaving after paying all the bills Thursday morning (7-3-14) and staying until Sunday evening. Pretty sure my parent's are gonna drag their 38' TT and go with us (they've reserved a spot across the driveway there from us,but said yesterday they were "only about 95% sure at this point"). Should be fun,it'll be our first time with our very own TT 😄

In Myrtle Beach right now ( without camper ) back to Va. On Sunday and work 3 days and leave Thursday morning for Beth Page in Urbana, Virginia. Yes a very busy, crowded but FUN campground, looking forward to it!!

I'm not going anywhere near a campground on the Fourth! I am camping on my friends property for his annual Fourth bash where there are plenty of crazies!!

Leaving Sunday from Jeffersonville IN, going to Turtle River State Park, ND to see my first great grandson. Will be taking two 7 year old girls with me to meet up with Nana who is already there. Will stay about 10 days and then off to Gull Lake MN for a week before heading back home. Had the oil changed today and two filters and only set me back $325
Now tomorrow I'm outsmarting those people and making them pull the tire off of my spare and only buying 3 additional tires so there I bought me 3 OEM tires to go with the spare. Got them off the Internet for $197 a piece and $32 per tire to have them shipped to me another $100 to have them mounted and balanced. So that's $872 for 4 brand new OEM tires. Quoted price on 4 of those same tires was $1128 so the way I see this that oil change and two fuel filters only cost me $69

Leaving tomorrow (Friday) for Chain o Lakes State Park (Indiana, near Fort Wayne) for Friday, Saturday, Sunday night. Breaking camp Monday and checking into Ouabache State Park (Indiana). (pronounced Wabash ... like the river. That's the original French spelling for Wabash). Will be there Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday night. Break camp on Thursday and returning home to be home on the 4th and that week-end, so all the loonies and zanies at the State Parks can have fun without us old codgers fuming smoke at all the noise and confusion! So you all have fun and kick up and have a great time!
