Awning shade

After 19 years of snow birding in South Florida I am going to get a sun shade < I would like to know what stakes to get and what Bungees, I have saw them tied down but never noticed what keeps the bungees from slipping off the ends of the stakes , are how many stakes there is,

I do not have their sunshade but will be buying one from them this winter. About 4 people at our campground bought sunshades from J&J and the product is very well made and the price is reasonable. They have experience and know what they are doing. Usually your custom shade is made in a few days.

Don't know where you plan to buy your sunshade but there is a place in Lake Wales, J & J Sunshades, that does great work and at a reasonable price. We bought ours there a couple years ago. I'm going to get a second shade for our awning on the slide of our 5er. A couple of suggestions based on the experience with our other awning:

Get one that has a zipper down about 3 ft. from the top, this way you can unzip and retract the awning without having to remove the awning from the track is case it has to come down because of the wind.

There are different opacities, decide how much sun you want to block and choose accordingly.

Take a measurement with the awning open (awning to ground) and take off half a foot or so, this is the "drop" measurement, as indicated above you can move the shade out to make small changes as needed.

You can and then stretch the shade out in front of the awning. You don't want it hanging straight down, it will give you more moving around room.

Thanks for all the advice, I should have ask this also, its seven feet from Awning to ground and a twenty foot awning, should I get a seven by eighteen shade??

BTW I use a ratchet strap at each end to hold the awning down when storms come. I then put bungees throught the side grommets and around the straps. That held for the more than two months without need to roll up the awning.

I use the bungee cords with the ball and run the loose end through the grommet on the shade, then attach the end of the cord to the "green top" tent stakes, which have a curved end that holds the bungee.

The length of the bungee will depend on how long your shade is and how tall your awning is.

Most stakes have a ring or a finger to keep the rope or bungee from coming off. Or you can use a zip tie to lock down the bungee to the stake.
