Making a trip to the north Oregon coast late May/early June. Wondering if anyone can tell me about Cape Kiwanda RV Resort? Also what to see while in the area. Thanks for any input you have to share.

Stayed there a few years ago. It's an excellent park, little tight but nice. Our Beagle had a hay day with all the rabbits running around there. Also got to see the Dory Fleet launch and the return.

Stayed there when we had a 37 foot MH. Space was very tight, and we got to listen to our neighbor snoring.
Now have a 40 footer. Would not go back there.

X100 !

Amazing Cafe, Hole in the wall with very limited seating but well worth the stop. Cape Kiwanda is average, but the location is great. The RV park is crammed tight and there is a lot of parting here (If you got kids who go to bed early, that is a problem, was for us) 1000 trails is up the road about 2 miles, very nice sites there. Enjoy the Oregon Coast, So much to see, and our state parks cannot be matched anywhere !!

Another great place for food is the Sportsman Pub and Grub. It is a local hangout but the people are great and the food is (IMO) the best in town. If you have travelers with you under 21 yrs then you can order food to go from them.

Ditto what many others have said. If you like hiking Camp Lookout to the north has some cool hikes to take in. The one to the point isn't the easiest but not difficult. I'd recommend having boots for that trail and expect a few muddy spots even in August.

Have stayed there many times. Very nice park with indoor pool and hot tub. A little spendy though.
Right across the street from the beach. If you want to drive on the beach, don't bother driving onto the beach in front of the Pelican Brew Pub, can't go very far. Instead, drive north on Cape Kiwanda Dr. about a mile and a half. Look for the road cutting down and back on your left. If you come to a stop sign you went too far. You can drive back north to the back side of the Cape Dunes or North if the tide is low enough to get around the rock outcropping to your right.
If you're not already planning on it, I would highly recommend at least a day trip south, at least as far as Cape Perpetua. Some of the best ocean views along 101 are on this stretch. Front Street in Newport is worth a stop.
For lunch, Tidal Raves in Depoe Bay is fantastic, not only the food but the view.

I just spent Friday, and Saturday night at the Thousand Trails Pacific City location. Which is about 2 miles further north on the main road.
Pacific City is a very small town. DW loves to go into the small shops. She loved an art gallery....and of course the "Dapper Frog" which has lots of really nice (expensive too) things. I think she could spend 90 minutes just in the Dapper Frog. One of her favorite shops recently closed up shop. so if you see something you like better buy it. Might not be there next time you are in town.
Fishing should be good----if you enjoy that.....should be able to dig clams in one of the bays on low tide.
Sand Lake is (maybe 10 miles north) known for ATV activities.
South on 101 is Lincoln City with a casino, and tons of shops including an outlet mall.
This on top of all the things already mentioned....the Brewery just across the street from your RV Resort is close....and watch the Dories launch.
Enjoy your stay!

I actually knew nothing about the area before we stayed there. A friend of mine did a review and article about the area for Coastal Living Magazine and fell in love with it.
