Favorite Camping Location

I know this topic has been hashed around before but where is your #1 favorite place to camp?

Mine is Acadia National Park in Maine. It has all our favorite things to do all in 1 location. Ocean, Lakes, Mountains, Tourist trap areas, Lobster, all in one location. It also has the 100% free to use LL Bean shuttle service throughout the area. The area is also very dog friendly.

We stay outside of Bar Harbor proper at Hadley's Point Campground. It is a private family owned and operated campground with decent sized sites and amenities.

Where do you like to go.

Skyline Ranch, Bandera, TX. Really like that little town. Been twice and on my list AGAIN! About 50 miles nw of San Antonio in the Hill Country.

Fair Harbor, Perry, GA. Like the area and a great restaurant just across the I-75, Oil Lamp.

That's us too. I have a list of favorite CGs but I think we can't narrow it down to one favorite. Well, maybe one so far: Wyalusing SP in sw Wisconsin. Wisconsin Ridge CG is amazing. Unfortunately we are "sized out" of there now - it's not built for rigs bigger than about 20'.

Wilderness RV Resort in Ocala National Forest, just down stream from Silver Springs Florida. The Silver river runs through the CG and is 100% clear water and you can see all the fish etc.

Hunting island State Park in South Carolina. We stay there at least a couple of nights every winter, in sites right by the ocean. Very peaceful, serene that time of year.

We usually stay at Hadley's Point not far from the KOA. We love Thurston's too. Can't beat eating your lobster right on re dock. We usually go every year but this year the whole family is going to OBX, that will mix the Acadia trip this year but I'm lobbying for the family to go to Acadia next year! 🙂

There are so many, but if I have to choose just one, its Assateague Island National Seashore.

Lots of fish in the sea here, and I have no number 1.

I'll toss out Oregon coast. It is perfect for RV camping-the coolness and dampness translates to cozy. Great scenery, lots of good little stops..great place!

Love Acadia! Especially the quiet side on Shoodic Point. We also like the quiet side of the island and Thurston's Lobster Pound. We stay at the KOA Oceanside and use it as a base camp. This trip has now become an annual event!

Tbred, We have been there and it is a beautiful campground but we are too big. My sister stayed there one year while we stayed in Bass Harbor. Very nice sites on the water but they are pretty small.
