Anyone else seen hershey's campground rate change for next year?

They will be charging 99 a night!

I think that is more than Disney most of the year!

Time to not renew Season passes and find somewhere else to camp.......

Wow that's crazy. It makes the Gettysburg parks seam reasonable... that entire region is pricey.

Depends on the site level at Disney's Campground. I pay for their "Preferred" sites (it goes Partial hookups --> Full hookups --> Preferred --> Premium). I have yet to pay less than $120/night for Fort Wilderness (February and June).

Head on up to Knoebels!!!! Free admission to the park, free shows, Ride all day is $49 ( parking at hershey is what? $45 per vehicle now? LOL) and the campground(s) are very highly rated. one is bordering the park so you just walk right in, the other i believe they do free shuttle to the park.

You can get Hershey tickets (Ride all day) for $45.00 or so.
What makes Knoebels a bargain is that you do not have to pay to enter.
Therefore if you are not getting on rides you do not have to pay the $45.00 fee!

That's unfortunate. We've camped at Hershey Highmeadows (different name now, isn't it?) and gone to Hershey Park and had a great time. Absurd prices for the park will probably cause us to look somewhere else in the future.

In reference to the trains... never seen or heard any noise from them before.

What is the discount on park admission typically?
We are planning on going next year, and the higher camping price might be offsite by the discounted tickets?

I hope you like trains if you're staying at the Hershey CG. I love trains, but I still don't think I'd want to hear them all day and night....I'm trying to get away from all the noise and commotion when I camp!

That being said, we love Hershey and Knoebels. I've never camped at Hershey but have camped at Knoebels. Agree that the two parks are apples and oranges in terms of taste.

Depends on what "league" you like.

I agree I'm referring to the league that has several rollers coasters a huge water park, hotels, a chocolate factory and much more.
Nothing wrong with Knoebels it is a great family oriented nostalgic amusement park that is more economical than Hershey.
Nevertheless Hershey has more state of the art rides and attractions.
Knoebels is a local park vs. Hershey which draws from the entire region.
As much as I like Knoebels it is not a major park and does not compare to Hershey in terms of size, attractions, and attendance.
However it does have a loyal following and its niche in the market place

If staying at the CG Hershey has a shuttle you do not pay to park.
The Hershey CG is always full to capacity during the season.
While I'm not happy about a price increase in the end I don't think it will hurt their business.
I like Knoebel's as well. However Knoebel's simply is not in the same league as a large park like Hershey

Might better go to Knoebels Park instead. Great family owned park.

Many would not want to get up an hour earlier to drive in from a state park. Not to mention you wouldn't be able to have lunch in your camper.

The campground at Hershey Park is convenient, but $99 a night is gonna be more than some people are willing to pay.
