National Parks - A Lot,

National Monuments - A lot

Great Places that were not National Parks or Monuments - A lot More.

IMHO, it's not a race or a contest - but a Journey - Just make it Fun and Enjoy it.

Get out on the Roads Less traveled, then just try to remember some of it.

How was Isle Royale NP? The idea of that park fascinates me but I'm too soft for an adventure like that.

That's one of the 19 we haven't been to along with Voyageur. We aren't ardent paddlers.

Chewed through a lot of em, more to come especially Alaska. Also really enjoying some national forest lands near these parks. Some areas are just as beautiful, much much less crowded. Since I prefer dry camping jn small motorhome, easy peasy.

Last I knew, there were 59 National Parks. After research, I was surprised to find out the latest, Gateway Arch, was designated just several days ago. Have to add it to my list.

I've been to 36 of them.

OK I had to check, there are 60 NP and we have been to 41, there are 129 NM and we have been to 36, tho I have to say that it may have been a few more. Those Indian Ruin parks all sort of blend together over the years...heh. here are also Historical sites and I didn't bother to check those but we've been to a number of them. The NP we have not been to are mostly Alaskan or otherwise not easy to get to parks. How many have been to Dry Tortugas for example.

OK I couldn't quit there are 89 National Historical sites, we've only been to 7, 25 National Military Parks, 7 of those too and there are even more: National Recreation areas and National Memorials (seems to be a number of National Mall sites) I call it quits with them

I'll list the NP we have not set foot in.

Channel Islands NP in my home state of California. If 101 and 1 don't close due to mud flows, we'll see it as we drive to Morro Bay St Pk tomorrow.

We have visited 38 National Parks. Two more are planed for spring and summer.

I just gained another NP sitting here at my computer. Forum member, Janss, has posted that The Gateway Arch is now a NP. That makes us 39.
