Yes, my fellow RVer, you certainly know what real snow fall is. A few years back, 208" fell here. Not a fun winter to experience in the north country.

Maybe we should complain to management! Better yet, travel to warmer climates.

WE stayed at about 44 commercial CGs and about 60 non-commercial dry camping spots this year.

We had mostly good service, did not care about management changes, and found prices all across the spectrum.

We most certainly would return to 95% of the places we stayed at. There have been some impressively beautiful spots and some spots that offer nothing accept a place to park. Leveling at some spots involved having an ingenious mind and a positive attitude. The silence at some spots was deafening. The openness at some was vast, while other spots had minimum appropriation.

Take the good with the bad and make the best of what you have.

It's been a little cool at times here in FL. It's been a little warm at times here in FL. It's been really nice at times here in FL. We just signed up for 5 months starting next November 1.

Regarding CG's. You can have 10 RV'ers pull into the same CG and you will have 10 different reviews of the CG.

With a motel all you want is a clean bed and bathroom for the night

CG's all vary with amenities, layout, ambiance, etc.
Each and every RV'er has their own needs and wants and what they like and what they don't like.

Here is what I do. Actually 'after' my first newbie trip as a Snowbird. I would never book extended stays at a CG I have never seen period.

Before you go back home or your extended stay time is up......
Allow an extra week before you head home.

Look up different CG's in the area you want to stay at next time and go and stay one night or two there and get the feel of the CG. Then find another one and stay a night to see what it's like till you find one you really like.

That way when you book your next trip south you won't be going in blind. There are SO many CG's down here I think the average RV'er misses out on a ton of great, spacious with trees, nice CG's

And honestly? I have never reserved a CG for the winter in Florida. Albeit I also refuse to stay at popular sardine packed parking CG's though, no matter where it is at or what it offers.

All CG's almost 'always' have a couple of spots saved for RV travelers to stop in for the night. Everyone I have pulled into for the night to see the CG has ultimately had a cancellation and since I am already in their CG I get the spot! I might stay one month or two and then move on to another one.

Great CG options in Florida are endless -- versus just looking up a popular site on line and booking it. And by God the state of Florida is huge! The sun doesn't only shine in the far south, expand your horizons!!:W:C

We stayed in 10 different campground/RV parks last year and were happy with all of them. We have actually never been to a place that was bad enough to cause us to leave. Lucky? Maybe.

I think he knows all too well the difference and just wants full disclosure to understand the question more. Otherwise, like TomG2 said, hook up and go if you're unhappy.

Maybe the OP booked 6 months in Florida getting a reduced monthly rate because they did not have to pay FL tax. Lot of non Florida parks give you reduced rates the longer you stay. It's one way they can trap you into their less then stellar park long term providing them an income stream.

Took us awhile to find this place and even given the poor weather and increased rates we still can't pick a place we would rather be at. So no we were not unhappy with where we're staying this winter. Next winter we might go walk-a-bout to make sure we didn't overlook anything given our cost/benefits restrictions. 😉

To ask a RVer, "How many unhappy with where they stayed this year?" Is kind of funny. I suppose some are unable, but most folks I know would hitch up and get our of any unpleasant surroundings. That is partly why we RV in the first place.

49 rv parks last year only one was funky, a city park but it was free with 30amp.
Our best was Arapaho NWR in Walden Colorado, moose everyday, I learned to admire sage brush, price was right and location was fantastic.
