Can Crusher

My wife is a devout recycler. I am thinking of mounting a can crusher some where outside my 5th wheel to reduce the cans. I am thinking about making a removal mounting plate to hang on my ladder when it is can crushing time. Any viable ideas on how I might do this and be able to just toss it back into the basement when finished.

Really?? Do they actually have a plant that hires people to separate the plastics and the aluminum and take off all the labels, etc? Sadly, our "recycling" just goes into the land fill. ๐Ÿ˜ž

We do here in Spokane Washington, those in city have a large recycle container (no need to sort), outside city in county has transfer stations that take recycle materials, again, no sorting needed. They do all the sorting at the recycle center.

An answer to your question. I have one home and one at my site. I bought the ones from harbor freight. I use a door hinge as a mount, I cut a large one down to the width of the crusher this way the pin is easy to insert and remove and by chance the hinge holes line up with the crusher holes. I mount one to the crusher and one to a stationary object. Then all you have to do is line up the hinges and insert the hinge pin, easy to install and remove. Works great for me!

If you are in a State where they charge a recycle fee you don't want to crush, you just want to save and take back for the fee charged. This can be 5 - 10 cents per can and is much better than the recycle payment per pound for aluminum.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Yes, they do we are suppose to peel the paper labels off the tin cans and paper/newspaper/cardboard plastic containers. I hardly ever have any trash for them to pick up. They also recycle yard waste into compost.

I ended up buying a wall mount can crusher at Harbor Freight. I made a wood mount to hang over 2 steps of my ladder on the back of my 5th wheel. I can keep the crusher in the basement and then hang it on the back when I need to crush cans.

Get a Brick, put the can on the ground...smash can with brick.

This is how the most of the rest of the world deals with this problem.

No installation, no mounting, no expense, recyclable earth friendly.

If your crusher is like mine it has a tab on the top for mounting on the wall. Bend this tab over 180 degrees so it will slide onto the end of the bumper with the crusher resting on top of the bumper. The tab should hold the crusher in place and the bumper supports the load.

Just a thought.

What a great new feature for an outdoor kitchen on a TT or 5W. I'm surprised that hasn't been invented yet. (Or has it?)

I saw a beer tapper several years ago in a 5er Toy Hauler at an RV show. Only one I ever saw that way from the factory.

what's the can crusher look like? mine is just a boot, on my foot.

i don't have much opportunity to crush cans though, in Michigan we're not allowed to crush ones with a deposit, which is most beverage cans.
