Did I pay too much?

My wife and I just purchased a new Toy Hauler. It is a 2014 Cyclone 4000 Elite. We have been looking at Toy Haulers for about the past year and a half. Last fall we were dead set on buying a Cyclone 4100 when we were ready to purchase. But then this spring we saw the 4000 Elite and new that this camper had the layout we wanted and so we found one with all the options that we would like to have in it. Here is a list of the options:

3rd A/C
Garage carpeting
5500 Onan generator
Porch option
6 point leveling system

The asking price was $96,000 and we ended up paying $73,000. So, my question is that I want your opinion, do you think that I paid too much? I feel that I got the camper I wanted for what I was willing to pay, but what about you? What do you think I should have been able to pay?

I don't know if you have buyers remorse, but you are concerned because you spent a lot of money on a luxury/frivolous item. It was not a practical/rational purchase so you feel a bit uneasy.

The good news is price seems in line at 25% off list. It is a lot of money but it is also the rig you wanted.
Turn off your logical thinking and focus on all the fun you'll have escaping the rat race.
Go enjoy your new RV which leads to the most important financial point.
The only way to get value out of any RV new or used. Regardless of price is to use it. The more you use it the more value you get in return.

So quit wasting time verifying things with us and just pack up and go! It will be worth it!

Enjoy it! Don't Worry be Happy

I agree with the above posters but IMO you probably could have done better at Holmans .

I worked REALLY hard to get the price that I did. People are very suprised at my price. I called various dealers and drove out to pick it up which saved me a good 1-2k on the price. After I got it, I wondered also if I got a good price, but guess what?. It's too late! I already bought it.

If you got what you wanted, did your homework on pricing, then you should be comfortable for what you paid for it. Or if you liked the dealer and think they did a fair deal but happy. No way you can return it now. LOL.

Now I'm just enjoying having it and trying to work out all the crazy gremlins.

Buyer's Remorse sucks, but you'll get over it. Sounds like a sweet rig to me, go enjoy it and get your money's worth out of it.

^^ THIS! ^^ That is all that matters!

BTW, you likely have other options but you don't know they are options...like the larger fridge and more tvs than just the big one in the livingroom. Yes, they are optional.

There is one rule that should always be followed: Once you buy something, quit shopping for it.

You bought it; you obviously like it. Now just go and enjoy it. The price you paid is the price you paid. It is done. Can't be changed. FORGET ABOUT IT!

The price you paid is water under the bridge. There's no need nor advantage in buyer's remorse now. Go enjoy your Cyclone and make good memories. Use the heck out of it and get your money's worth.

If you got what you want, and you feel the price was fair, who are we to think you paid to much? I wouldn't pay $73K for an RV....but then that's me, and I wouldn't be buying a new one either....but 25% off list sounds like a pretty good price. Some folks will say that with the recession, you should get 50% or more off, but I doubt very much if they ever got that much....just wishful thinking.

If you can afford it, just go and enjoy it!! That's what it's all about anyway...go have fun!!
