Keeping an eye on this as I may buy tires soon. Bought a 2014 Voltage 3305 recently and is in great shape as it should be. The tires are 235/80R16. Name escapes me but starts AK......

They show some wear but ok. Trailer weighed is 12700 and know I will have 1500 more in there towing and will upgrade tires in the future. It is double axle.
Keep recommendations coming....

I went with some LT Cooper's in the the standard 16" tire size (285/80/16E I think? Whatever the really common size is). Haven't had a problem with them and am very happy with them.

16" LT tires is the only way to go.
My buddy only got 3 years out of a new set of Maxxis tires. He was disappointed.

A couple of the 15" china bombs on our trailer were bulging all the way around in the tread last summer. I bought 16" silver steel wheels for $42 each from etrailer. Com. I had uniroyal hd/h load e 10 ply lt tires put on them and the trailer is more stable. Towed it from maine to n.c and back the tires ran cooler on the highway than the china bombs. I check the tires and hubs at every stop with a ir thermometer.

Wow, thanks for all the responses. I checked the trailer today and I have plenty of room for 16" wheels so may just do that. As for china bombs, well........been china bombed and never again. Maybe they are better now but I'll give then 20 years to prove that out. Going to look at the Firestones. E rating is max I need.

Any sites that sell decent 16" wheels?

Thanks again.

Maxxis makes an E rated tire in 15". You said they have performed well.

Probably my favorite E rated tires are the Westlakes. Many Forest River haulers come with them. I've had 235/80/16s and they've done really, really well. I know they make E rated 15s but not sure if their performance is any less.

My new hauler is being picked up next week and I went ahead and had them put G614s on it.

I was running Maxxis, two blowouts but they were a bit old. Went to the Firestones on recommendation from my tire guy, so far so good.

I agree the "china bomb" is over stated. There are millions of these on the road with no issue. Having towed over 250000 miles only failure was a US made Goodyear. I have friends that have equipment trailers....the chinese ST tires last the same as a US made tire and those trailers take a beating'

Sorry, but I think the whole "China bomb" thing is overblown (no pun intended), especially in the last several years. When was the last time you saw a post about it? I got 5 years and many thousands of miles from my previous MIC Marathons, have replaced them with Carlisle R/H. Tows nicely and I expect good service from these as well. Get a load range higher than the originals, maintain and cover them. YMMV.

Get LT rated for the full GVWR. Probably need 16"+ wheels.

Do yourself a favor and upgrade to 16" wheels. More/better tire options in that size.
