My husband says I need to get some hobbies. My top favorite things to do is traveling and exploring...but I need something to do in my down time. I need something I can do when we are in our RV "relaxing"...I like to research on the internet and read books but I'd like to do something more "mindless" every once in a while. Any suggestions? What's your favorite in-the-rv hobbies?

I always take the sewing machine. This winter I plan on doing the log cabin squares for a queen quilt and quilt it when we go back to homebase. I also decided to "take up" water color painting. Last week I bought a jigsaw puzzle at a thrift store. I always have a few hundred books loaded to the Kindle. And there's a cross-stitch project that needs to be started. You could take up researching your ancestors. Of course, there's the bicycle and hiking and playing with the dogs.

One of the things that I do is make paracord items. Duck and deer call lanyards, bracelets, dog collar and leashes. Pretty simple to do adn does not take up much room.

Hi, The kind of hobbies to get involved with will depend a lot on the kind of things you enjoy and the type of camping you do. I do a lot of sewing but we spend summers mostly in areas without electricity. I take my hand cranked Singer machine and attachments. How about hand embroidery, piece a quilt, scrap booking, knitting, crochet, write a book, read books, make jewelry. I can spend hours loading pictures into the computer and adjusting the flaws in them with photoshop. Camp grounds without electricity allow the use of generators during assigned hours and we use these hours to charge batteries. I wish you great success in finding just the right hobbies. bcnu Nell

Taken to the proper level, yes, drinking can be considered a hobby. Don't look for it to become an Olympic sport though. "Curling" has that spot.
