DP air filters

Where is the best place to find DP air filters for a coach. I ordered one from RV chassis but its the wrong one. Are there any auto parts or truck shops that have them in stock. I have a 2001 DP Beaver Contessa with a 330 CAT motor.

I pick mine up at the Freightliner Shop, $67. Napa here in town has to order it, and they charge $170. If you looked at both filters, the only difference I can see is the paper sticker on the outside. The NAPA near the Freightliner Dealer charges $78 and stocks it. Not sure why they differ so widely in price.

Caterpillar did not supply the air filter to Monaco . I have a 2003 Cat 3126E engine and CAT did specify the air filter. It came from NAPA. Monaco charged $230 for it, CAT wanted about half that and if you buy it from Napa it will cost you about $68. The NAPA part # for the CAT 3126E engine air filter is: Napa Gold 6857.

Rather then looking it up by year and chassis, remove the current filter and write down the brand and part number. Then cross reference on that, or if your manual states the brand and part number you can go that route as well.

If I look up a 2001 roadmaster R4R, the air filter is recommends does not match what is in the coach after final assembly.

trying to order a replacement air filter for my 330hp ISC Cummins, I'm unable to read the cartridge number on the filter, due to age. Would anyone know what is the filter Cartridge Number for this engine?

I second FilterBarn.com I order all my filters thru them for my Cat 3176 and they always have a variety to chose from(Napa, Donaldson, Wix, Cat, Baldwin etc).

And wix filters are very very good.

Ryder Fleet is a good source. The Donaldson for my Cummins powered HR was $38.00 delivered to my door. My experience is that NAPA is usually on the high end for a filter built by Wix but for some is the only choice in their area.

If you have a Speedco close by, they will have the correct size in a Fleetguard brand for $59.95.

Most any dealer for heavy duty trucks or machinery will have a selection of filters for most applications. If you pull the old filter and get the brand & part# they can X-reference to any brand. The place I deal with locally has me on file. I just call and tell them what I need, whether air, oil, fuel, belts etc. and they'll have it pulled and waitning on me and still get my X employer company discount even though retired and the co. no longer has a local branch.

$.02 - Air filters are also not an area to try to save a buck... IMO get the best quality filters you can get. Air, Oil, Water, etc..

Even Amazon now has filters available, as another source to consider.

I look up a Donaldson distributor in the area. A new one for mine is a stock item and ~$45.00.
