To "B" or not to "B"

Having read through the archives of the B RVs it seems that a false dichotomy has emerged with the introduction of Sprinter chassis' to C brands. An example: the Phoenix Cruiser 2400 is now available with a Sprinter chassis found on many B class RVs.

Why not get rid of the B and C classifications and just go to Large, Mid-size, and Small/compact Motorhome designation as the car industry uses? Or are the B and C designators just a marketing tactic?

Not positive, but I don't think you have to go too many decades back to a time when there were motorhomes (slang, 'Winnebago'), mini-motorhomes (chassis cabs with coach built on back), and camper vans. I'd bet few rigs in each MH category strayed far from group average lengths of 24', 20', and 16' respectfully.

Not flaming or trolling, just an observation...

It seems to me that rv.net members who champion the Bs want to have a cake and eat it too. Hardcore rv.net B lovers show great pleasure in RVing entirely within the small space afforded by a van, yet insist that a B is anything that came out the auto factory as a van no matter how big it becomes after the RV manufacturer makes body modifications.

garmp1,

The BEE Social Group is a Facebook group created to make it easy for people to organize Class B socials. There is no structure, membership, dues, budget or hard fast rules -- just a guideline of what has been happening and recommendations. Someone finds a campground, sets a date, announces a social and everyone that knows about it makes their own arrangements and reservations. Kind of a "Field of Dreams" approach. Activities are then organized by consensus amongst the attendees. As I mentioned, the Kansas Social at the Melvern Reservoir sprung up surprisingly just a month ago, I think because we had a member worried about his Bloody Mary skills eroding if he couldn't gather a crowd soon. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Another St. Louis guy, BTW, is working on finding a place in Missouri next spring. There is a Tybee Island, SC social this September but I understand the available sites already filled up. We are not going to that one.

I never did understand why people from other forums come on here and try to convert people to their way of travel. Class a owners , travel trailer owners, class C owners come on fairly regular to sing the praises of their set-up. Are any of our members going to the Class A forum to do the same. I do understand newbees making the mistake and we gently try to stear them to the correct forum.Happy July4th.

There is Sticky at the top of the CVC home page. It would be there, with all the Class B Rally, and other Socials.
Note: It will only show up there if someone has sent Admin (Moderator) the info. to post.
If it's being promoted on RV.Net then it would be found in the Rally Forum.

OK davydd, you've provoked my interest. What, where and when are the Bee Socials? Where can I get more info? Sounds like something I(we) need to attend.
Our 2351D Phoenix Cruiser, Jack, has turned us from campers into RVers and loving it!
