Anyone using gadgets for leveling?

I've seen a few things on Amazon for leveling trailers wirelessly but they are in the hundreds of dollars. I also found an app called Stay Level on the iOS app store which looks very promising. It requires 2 iOS devices, one in the trailer and one outside. The one sitting on the floor in the trailer is used as the level which communicates with the device outside. The only issue is that they have to be on the same WiFi network. While you can setup one with a hotspot, this is obviously difficult in areas without cell service where hotspot isn't an option.

Any other ideas for leveling other than a breaking out the 'ole spirit level?

I just have a level on the side of the fiver and the front. I never thought of it as a big pain that I needed some other device to do it. I also glued a little bubble level on a magnet I keep in the propane area, after I unhook from the truck I just set it to level-that tells me where I need to be when hooking back up....easy

Gee.. I always used a BUBBLE LEVEL or BALL LEVEL where I could see it in the rear view mirror.. (Side to side leveling) and a second one on the side of the trailer for Front to back (done with the jacks) Never had a problem.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

I use the cabinet door and bathroom door. I open both to 90 degrees and watch the swing. When they don't move, I am level enough.
I am NOT a mechanic although I do play one in my garage!

In the 50+ years the Wife and I have camped, being perfectly level isn't high on the priority list.
I have an East/West level on the dash and a North/South level on the door jamb by my left ear. North being straight ahead.
That is my simple way of getting approximately level.
Don't use the stove top and the microwave doesn't care if it's not perfect.
I guess that I could dangle a laser on a one foot string from the ceiling and put a dot on the floor. :B

wifi between devices, does not need a cellular data connection
a router will 'route' traffic 'data' between connected devices, with out using internet

I don't know how the ios app works, but if it has to go thru the internet, then its NOT wifi router independent, its cellular internet "DEPENDENT"

NOT wifi
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Stop the high tech stuff...the one area you can tell level is the stove burners...when you cook, butter in a skillet will run to one side or the other...just put a regular carpenter level on the stove, when you are level front to back, side to side you're done.

This assumes the stove is level with the floor, the beds, fridge, etc. Unless you verify all this, you should level the one component most important to you.

I bought the level-mate but haven't installed it yet. It's a small sending unit you mount in the rv and then you can see how level the rv is from an app.

Should work well with my truck camper as I can move around the site and probably find a spot level enough without getting out to check.

Since i have a single axle trailer, I started out using a combination of the Andersen Leveler and the Hopkins Lighted Level. The "bubble" turns red (from the LED in the level) when level, and can be seen from the driver's seat.

It worked great, but it was too easy to forget to turn off the level light & end up killing the battery. After using it for awhile, I found that I could use the truck's mirrors to watch the belly band on the trailer to tell when it was level & haven't fired up the Hopkins in years.

I have a large level mounted to the camper that I can see in my rear view mirror. I roll around until I can find a level spot. If that doesn't work, that large level has incremental lines on the glass. Each line represents two boards that I need to put under the wheels to be level. When I unhook, another level tells me how high I need to jack 'er up. All done, but to verify I open the frig and check the bullet level there, removing beer as necessary to, ah, fine tune the rig's geometry,

Beer! Drink the beer and lay empty bottle on floor. If it rolls, camper is not level. Drink another beer, try again. Repeat as necessary. If you don't get it right soon enough, you'll be too drunk to notice.

If you don't drink, a simple $2 bubble level on the tongue will work just fine.

Whiskey Stick... That what a level is called in the trade up here in good ole NH... Of course I wouldn't know for sure if they use good whisky to make them, I've never been that hard up to need to test it.

If by "gadget for leveling" you're referring to a bubble/spirit level, then yes I do. Anything else violates the KISS mandate. ๐Ÿ™‚

I use a free Android app called Clinometer. It doesn't communicate to a second device like you are describing, which would be handy. I use it like a standard level, and usually have to make 2-3 trips in and out of the trailer before I'm done.
