Don't want Dish's "Pay-As-You-Go" plan

We are considering the purchase of the Winegard Pathway carry out satellite dish and two Dish Network ViP211z recievers for use in our motor home. Since we live and travel fulltime in our coach we have no need for the "Pay-As-You-Go" plan from Dish. We would like to sign up for one of their programming packages under a two year contract. These packages are quite a bit cheaper than the ones included in the "Pay-As-You-Go" plan. So far I havn't been able to get an answer from Dish that this is possible with portable satellite systems. Has anyone out there been able to do this?

I recently bought a Tailgater and a 211 receiver for the Windy and added 'em to my home account for the $5.00 monthly Dish fee. The newer 211 receiver doesn't pick up OTA stations like my older home 211 receiver does, but that ain't no biggie, since the coach has an antenna lead that hooks right into the TV. I don't need to see my home OTA TV stations when traveling, as I like to know what's happening locally where ever we happen to be. And one of our local TV stations broadcasts their news programs on the interywebs anyhoo!

If you aren't a Dish customer and you sign up the programing will be cheaper at first if you go with a 2 year contract no matter what equipment you use. After your introduction period your pricing will go to the normal price just like I pay with my Tailgater.

While this is certainly a viable plan, it is quite illegal and considered a theft of services.
Don't confuse the fact that I have given you the facts with any kind of concern over whether you do or don't. We all pick a value for right and wrong and go from there.
I am sure that you are also aware that you will never be able to receive ANY Network programming once you leave the area served by your kids home address.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

Just have the 211 receiver added to your adult kids account at their house. Then give them $100 a year to cover the $7 a month dish will be adding to their bill. Now unplug the recever from their house and take it on the road. Bonus pick the kid with the most channels subscribed.

Thanks for your replies. I had a hunch it was possible. Also, I just received an e-mail from Dish stating that I could indeed sign up for any of their progamming packages that they offer. I wasn't limited to the ones included in the "Pay-As-You-Go" plan.

I'm doing it with a Travler, but I'm pretty positive DISH doesn't care what sat dish you hook up to one of its receivers.

We just signed up for Pay as you go today. The key might be to call the right people. I called 877-435-0181 - which I believe is Winegard/Dish. They knew exactly what to do and we are all setup.

I have this service and the first time I suspended it, they tried to charge me to re-activate....thats a no no. You should not be charged any fees for starting or stopping this service.

I have the Family Pay As You Go Dish plan for a tailgater and one VIP211K. The first year I had it I suspended my service for the winter. They charged me $5.00 a month to do this. So this year I canceled the service and had them place a note in my record stating that I will re-subscribe in the spring.

Yes, it's possible and that's what most users who need it for more than a short period do. You can call Winegard directly (they are a full service Dish Network provider) at 866-609-9374. They can answer all your questions and also setup the service for you when you are ready.
