I Really Do Try To Support Camping World, but it's hard.

I have to repair our 7 pin plug at the rear of the motorcoach so I called the Tucson Camping World. I call during normal business hours but get the answering machine. I leave a detailed message as to what I need and wait for a return phone call. After some time passes, I continue looking on line and find what I need at e-trailer.com. I order the Pollak 11-933 and 11-893 package deal for $27.00. A little later I get the return call from the Camping World associate and he tells me that he can get the parts for me for $70.20. I totally understand some price differences from store to store, but from $27.00 to $70.20? At least I got a return call, thanks,..but I really hope he just made a pricing mistake.

Hey its all in the packaging 😉
Went into the local CW was looking at changing out all the marker lights front and rear.
They have the Bargman "kit" basically a new Red or Amber lens and a LED that plugs into the old plug.
CW wanted $10.89 all packaged up in that nice clear see through plastic wedge with the pretty label on it , oh and CW's price sticker too.
Found the identical "kit" from racemart $3.99 ordered 5 of the Red and 5 of the Amber , they all came in a box smaller then half a shoe box unwrapped with a little bit of bubble wrap to keep them tight in the box...

Its all in the packaging 😉

good thread...to good to die so soon. first off, why did the part need repair? did it drag? these have a charge pin thats 1/8" wide and very thin. If you got a tranny pump or brake system, youve got a lot riding on this terminal. TTs have extra batteries for slides and accessories and instead of stepping up, the industry stepped down here. Gone are the days of 10 ga, 30 amp charge circuits. Seen a 2015 truck with this plug and they stepped down to a 14 ga. charge wire. Thats only rated for 15 amps. Probably to help save this connection. Good luck with that.

On RV parts:
I have a parts store. Etailers buy from the same vendors I do. My vendor just sales and drop ships so cheap for them, that the etailer can sell for about the same price I buy from my vendor for. etailers dont have to warehouse product, so they dont. So, when RV stores dont stock it anymore, you know why. Folks think were cutting a fat hog and it aint so. Were tired of folks coming in too for the touchy, feely on the item and our expert advice on the model thats best so they can just go order online. i dont even staff the store anymore, they just know to come find me in the shop. Of course this is a camping world site, and we know they could afford cheaper prices. They get right from the manufacturers. But why should they, the independent rv shops pricing is dictated by the vendors so they dont have to. So, now you know whats happening in the RV parts industry.

Charging 70 dollars for something that can be bought on line for 27!!! That my friend is cutting the fat hog.

I also have tried to support camping world, but always seem to get the shaft when dealing with them. Tried to charge us $33.00 for a 2 ounce heater part for our motorhome, that they claim is a special order item, yet other rv dealer have them in hand because it usually is the first part to go on water heater and they are all standard parts. Second time they shafted us they refused to fill our propane tank claiming it needed to be certified, not true on motor homes, only DOT tanks.
I often wonder how in the future they will stay in business. Shame on the for their Tom foolery when it comes to their mainstay, RV owners.
I guess we have to be the ones charged to keep all the NASCAR drives paid their millions to race! I'm out... will never deL again with Camping World.

Just confirms the saying, no one Co. can please all the people, all the time. If etrailer had a website for posters to come and vent their problems, they may appear as "bad" as CW :@

From the parts that you posted Sooner Schooner that you ordered from etrailer and from looking at the CW website (which may not have everything they can get), there may of been some misunderstanding as to what you exactly needed. If he could of sent you a link to the part or a picture of what he was talking about, then it might of cleared it up a little. You knew what you needed and saw it on etrailer. I guess you could of given him the link to the product on etrailer so he could understand. Still might of been more than etrailer, but I don't think it would of been 3 times the price.

I don't order much from CW. I get their catalogs in the mail regularly, and basically it's the same usual stuff in every catalog. CW doesn't cut you any slack in shipping costs. I can shop at our local RV dealers, and there pretty competitive. Amazon.com has pretty much anything in RV supplies, and most often free Shipping. I have found that with certain RV equipment, they don't carry the brand I want.

I will not buy from Camping World unless I have no other choice. I had a bad experience with them over the solar refrigerator vent that I had to replace the fan three times and the solar panel once. I left a bad review and they would not publish it. I tried three times and even was told by Marcus that it would be published and another rep who phoned me also told me the same but it never was published. I have found out since that no review under four stars ever gets published so this is not an honest company and you have no way of reviewing an item before purchasing it. Their prices are always higher than mail order and other businesses in the area so why use them?

I didn't look up which connectors you were referring to.
I would suggest that you get some electrical grease and coat the plug-in connectors.
Make sure the existing connectors get cleaned good before coating.

Funny that you mention that, because I recently bought wiper blades at the Denton, TX store and even wrote a nice post on the Camping World service forum about being treated well and getting some help.

I posted the item numbers of what I need and ordered. Our coach wiring is listed as the same type Dodge uses, it has a rectangle plug on the wiring harness. Pollak brand part# 11-933 and #11-893, I received them today from e-trailer and all is good. But thanks.

Yes, this is a sad thread on bricks and mortar businesses who have a website as a sideline. I too try to buy from CW when I can. Usually, it is while on the road and need something now. Otherwise, I check their website for worst case scenario and work down through Bing search, eBay and Amazon. 90% of the time CW is at least 25% higher. Usually it is because of their shipping charges. CW just hasn't jumped the curve on e-commerce. On the positive side, I did buy long wiper blades for the MH from them on line a couple months ago. They were cheaper than any others I could find. Go figure...
