48 inch wide rolls of Eternabond tape?

Apparently there are such things as 48 inch by 50 feet wide Eternabond rolls.

This gets me wondering... for a rig that is 100 inches in width, would three overlapped layers of this ensure the roof is well sealed for a long time, assuming one is able to get the Eternabond properly pressed into place around the items in the roof (vents, skylights, the A/C, etc.), as well as having it overlap the sides by an inch or two?

In theory, this would be interesting, but each 48" x 50' roll is about a grand in price, so it definitely isn't a cheap idea, nor likely a doable one, due to the need to make sure Eternabond is pressed into place at every inch.

I think the OP was pondering a theoretical exercise
About covering a roof without removing everything from the roof
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Best Materials has 36"x50' Eternabond at $512.95/roll.

EternaBond RoofSeal WHITE Repair Tape

With 3 rolls and additional seam tape, cleaner, primer, etc., that would make it at least $1700 plus shipping to do a complete 40' RV roof. Best Materials also sells EPDM re-roof kits that would only be about $1000 including all materials and tools needed.

I have to wonder how much Rhino lining is to do a job that size...

Im a fan of Eternabond but have only used it to seal roof seams, not the entire roof. Even though it's an excellent t product, I would opt for a roof coating that can be "painted" on. I'm sure there are some good products out there that can be applied this way. Would no doubt be less expensive, too!

I would be more inclined to use 2' wide and go across the roof. Start in the back and work your way forward.

Otherwise strip the roof of every fixture and get some 9' wide for the entire length :B

I'd practice on sheeting the whole roof with a bonding layer product by using something like this: Grace ice and water shield

As was posted, the major leak points are not through the membrane but at any through hole areas.

I ordered some 48" wide to repair a roof on my home. It is special order.

Re-roofing with wide Eternabond would be doable, but it would cost more than a conventional EPDM DIY re-roof kit. The labor would likely be similar anyway.

My first thought is that it's the edge seams and utility protrusions that have more of a potential for leaking. With the wide rolls of tape you are paying for, covering areas that are probably not ready to leak is a lot of "extra" money, IMHO.
