A squirrel made a nest in our Air Conditioner and even got inside the RV. DH wants to shoot it but isnt there another way to get rid of a squirrel?

Toot that gator,,,err,,, Squirrel. But, again that will make a mess inside the camper. If you want them dead I still say live trap it and then dispose of it in anyway you see fit. But, better check you local laws. There might squirrel season or something and around here you would need a small game (or more correctly called a Sportsman's) license.

When I bought my S&B house 4 years ago, it had squirrels in the attic, and had for YEARS. I tried all of the remedies, trapping/relocation, closing up entrances, putting smelly things (e.g. mothballs). The only thing that worked was buying a pellet gun and shooting them. I started shooting every squirrel I saw in the yard. Within 2 months, I had all of the squirrels out of the attic. Since the smell of squirrel is in the attic though, it will still attract new residents, so I am still shooting them 2 years later. However, now I only see about 2 squirrels a month in my yard. That is amazing as I have a heavily wooded lot.

ScottG,
For maybe the first time in my life, I sat here all by myself and laughed out loud. "Designing Women", indeed. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yep the only way is in I would think would be thru the metal covering over the Evap coil and with a hole your A/C efficiency will be in the dumps. I still have a hard time seeing how he go in from the outside, but I guess it's possible.

Thanks for the laughs all. This RV is on our seasonal site on Lake Fork, so not transporting it. We had gotten a call that the neighbors had seen it up on our roof so DH went down to check it out and of course it is too cold to go fishing. Yea it did some damage on the wires of the air conditioner, hope he can fix it. He is going to try to put wire mesh around it and hope the squirrel doesnt chew through that.

I prefer Executives method. It would make a great Youtube Clip:B

Seriously, Trap it and transport it.

Most state it is illegal to transport and release nuisance wildlife.
No do not shoot it in your RV.

I used a rat trap for the furry tailed rats after they chewed through through the fuel injection hose, and nested in a Saab Sonett I am restoring. There are repellants but I was not feeling that heritable.

Just don't hit the rv. Catch the little bugger and block his entry point.

This time of year, relocating 10 or 20 miles from home will cause the squirrel to starve to death. In relocating it to new territory, it will loose all the food it has stashed for the winter, or be run out of the territory by the squirrels who live there.

If you can't keep it from getting back into your rig, it would be more humane to trap and destroy.
