Do you use your bathroom? If not, what do you use it for?

Hello. I'm working on an article about whether most RV owners use their bathrooms or not. If you do, feel free to chime in. If you don't why not and what do you use it for instead? Please give examples of what you do use it for. Thank you!

RV is designated as 'self contained'

That means you can sleep in it, cook in it, wash dishes in it, entertain in it, poop in it, pee in it, shower in it without having to interface with any other facilities.

Yep,........we do ALL of the above.
I even sometimes pee in the shower.
Such is life.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Yep, I use the bathroom as do my kids. DH does not, he says he would rather stop up the campground commode.

That's what its there for.....and its MINE. I know what has been done in it and how its cleaned. I still occasionally use the CG bath house. I am not a germaphobe but I prefer my own facilities.

Our motorhome is our home... Of course we use all of the facilities, including in the bathroom.

Of course I used all the facilities in my bathroom. If I stop at a rest stop on the highway, I'll use their facility simply because it's easier to do so, and I don't start filling up the black tank before I get to my destination.

And I almost always use the shower, simply because I don't want to carry clean clothes, towel, wash cloth, shampoo, and soap with me to the bath house. Sometimes I will use the CG shower if it means being able to jump off sooner in the morning. Shower in the tub and it takes a while to dry it out well enough to store stuff while underway.

The kids and wife use if for everything. If there are campground bathrooms, I only use the TT for #1 at night. If the showers are decent at the campground, I use it also to save on water and tank filling.

Our 35 ft travel trailer is an extension of our home. The bathroom and shower is used the same as in our home. The wife got tired of filthy hotel, motel, and campground bathrooms and showers. No reason not to use it.

I wonder about folks that don't use the facilities in their RV, if they run down to the local service station to take care of business when at home.

I think that this forum is used for research for Trailer Life articles. Just last night, I was reading a recent issue with an article on campground etiquette. The guidelines for proper CG behavior were plucked from this very forum - almost verbatim. Dog poop, outside lights, pets barking, kids screaming, smoky camp fires.

The OP is most likely writing for Trailer Life.

Nope, I'm

not writing for Trailer Life.

I have some friends who are new RV owners and they don't want to use their RV bathroom.

I'm curious as to why and wonder

if other RV owners do the same.

Sooo, why did you post this? :H

We use the bathroom as intended except for the shower. We don't use the shower because we almost always are on electric only sites. We use the shower for storage.

19 yrs camping with two 20' trailers and we have hardly ever used our rv shower, its just to small so we use the tub for storage. At this point in our lives we camp based on value & experience and not material.
