The Governor has just extended shelter in place until April 30th.
Stopped all vacation rentals of less than 30 days.
For now campgrounds will remain open.

We have camped and travelled all over Georgia and their wonderful state parks. Liked north Georgia so much, we are building a new home in Blairsville.

Amazing, isn't it? Everyone knew that weeks ago.

Well more like years for this type of infection.

hey want to hear a good one.

I read a post from someone who said Dr. Fauci is not a virologist. His speciality is AIDS (Which is caused by HIV, which means Human Immunosupressent Virus if I spelled the "I" word)

So the idiot literally said "he is not a virologist... he is a Viroligist.

Yup.... (That post was elsewhere) NOTE I make no comment on the Doctor's qualifications.. Only on that poster's.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

The beaches here, Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island are being patrolled by County Police, State Troopers and GA DNR. They are keeping people from stopping and sunbathing. No Chairs, Umbrellas or tents are allowed - only walking, jogging or biking allowed.

He opened them to allow people to go to the beach for exercise, not mass gatherings and hanging out.

So, if you want to jog on the beach, you can. You can't hang out and sunbathe. The intent is to offer people options to get out for a little bit for some fresh air and exercise, as long as they follow social distancing guidelines.

Just like Saturday I went with the wife and dog to a short nature/walking trail here in town. It was nice to get out for an hour or so, and it was easy to ensure we were socially distanced.

Everyone come down to Georgia and camp. Be happy to see the campgrounds full of out of state campers spending their money in Ga.

That's a start. He's only a few weeks behind most of the nation now. Glad he was thinking of the snowbirds that are still in Georgia.

GA has been in a State of Emergency since very early on. Originally, the governor was allowing local authorities to make decisions effecting their communities. I think the governor finally caved because he didn't want to be one of those "hold outs" that hasn't put a shelter at home order in.

The governor's orders have actually relaxed restrictions that our county commissioners had put in place, most notably, he re-opened the county beaches for exercise only.

The governor's order really hasn't changed anything for us and I would expect most Georgians except, if we wanted to go to the beach for a walk, we could. Originally, he allowed short term rentals that local authorities had banned, but apparently, he recently changed his mind. That should keep vacationers away. Currently, our County has about 30 cases out of a population of 85,000 or so.

I ignored his response as it was from a out of state person spouting off about just to be talking.
I spend a lot of time at Jekyll Island down there. Yall stay safe.

I have a friend in Helen, GA camping at Unicoi right now.
Almost all the forest are closed, almost all the primitive and road side camping is restricted, lots of trails closed.
Parks and playgrounds are wide open.
We do not know for sure yet if the "lockdown" is the right solution. It seems to make sense, but we might have been dupped. You can argue this with things you heard on the news, but you cannot say for sure you know anything, so please do not try to argue this on a camping forum. The news is talking about it non-stop so trying to parrot something they have said, and everyone has heard, is not productive.
It was last Friday that GA went into this lockdown.
Heading into the remote areas violates "socialdistancing" yet a trip to the store does not, but GA has done this.
Ga beaches are not ever crowded like FL beaches, so they would not be under a lot of stress anyway.

Didn't know fer sure what we would be facing as far as camping restrictions, for that reason we left the MH in Az and drove back for medical appointments and back out there in a bit.Talked with THP her in Tn and .... before heading back but still decided to leave it hooked up out there.
We didn't see perhaps 50 RVs on the road in the whole 1800 miles. In Arkansas, I don't think many noticed there was a lock down or whatever. Malls etc were empty for the most part but roads were full. We paid $1.50 for premium no Ethanol, at one place in Texas and $1.14 at a Casino, in Oklahoma for premium with Ethanol.
Motels still wanted high prices where they are clumped together. But we stayed in two older motels in great shape and clean for about $50.00 each night. No one served breakfast of course due to Cornavirus. I am sick and tired of McDonalds, and all the rest. on the way back or to wherever, when we pick up the coach, the larder will be well stocked, no more fast food.

Most all state parks in GA are still open to camping and the governor opened beaches local governments had closed.
