Getting ready to go

Leaving for first vacation in way too long with DH soon. Since I'm taking DH and the two big Goldens, I'll have an extra 300# of, um, Beloved Companions along.

Just went through the rig and pulled out ALL of the non-essentials, including my tea-maker and toaster. WAH! Some of the games. Some of the pots and pans. It came to a surprising number of pounds when you include the extra 15' 30Amp cord, the extra hoses and most of the books - do I really need 3 Good Sam directories in the trailer?

Maybe now I'll be able to make it up the hills!

^ This! Seriously....Not for weight savings on your trip of course, but it's great for them big ole hairy dogs. We're not much on pet maintenance, but 2-3x a year we take our old Golden in and get her shaved down almost bald. She looks like a new dog, feels great and has more energy. (Not as much mud sticks to her either! lol)

I make sure I have 200 feet of hose to hook up to a water supply ( I have needed it more times than I can count) I have three heavy duty extension cords for shore line hook up ( used em three times, once for three years).

At our very first night's camp, we were too far from the electrical and had to borrow a 30A extension cord. :S

Other than that, it was a GREAT trip.

Was going to comment that no way would I leave my 30A extension behind. Chances of needing it go right to 100.00% if you do.

Each spring, I do an "inventory" of what's in my 'C'. If I haven't used it all year, I remove it, but keep it. If I have no idea what it is or what its for, it goes in the garbage.
Then, at home, I open a large garbage bag and start going through the "In Box" on my desk. The same rules apply. File it or toss it.
Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.
