Have these forums "Jumped the Shark"?

The forums used to be frequented by posters who had what I considered reasonable opinions on most issues. In the last couple of days there have been threads about constantly barking dogs left in rigs, a guy who whipped it out and urinated in public, and a guy who dumped his black tank into a stream. In the past those actions would have been met with a long chorus of "that behavior is unacceptable". However all three were filled with posters saying those actions were fine and justifiable. To me it sure feels like the monkeys have taken control of the zoo.

I don't try to watch reality TV anymore since all I can ever think about is there are a few people w/ camerasat work the whole time. Is that very real?

(I shouldn't be sayin' this since LA hosts most of them. "Shoot 'em Jacob!")

Never thought about it. If the thread doesn't interest me I don't read it.

Six months ago, I started a thread about wearing hats in restaurants. The replies convinced my that what use to common courtesy is long gone. If it isn't illegal, some people feel that it is their right to do it. Legally, they are correct, ethically they are bankrupt.

If I don't keep my cap on, I'll leave it in the restaurant (along with my sunglasses).

Me, too. Except I don't have any sunglasses. I think I left them laying on a table in a restaurant.
But, I'm not sure...

Kinda like subjecting yourself to watching reality shows. Forces me to remember I haven't had unfortunate situations and lousy neighbors like some people have experienced.

I will second that sentiment. When I'm out camping, I tend to meet people where there is plenty in common, be it music, religion, political leanings, educational level, general intelligence, and politeness.

Contrast that to the city where I've encountered people whom I've tried spending a lot of time trying to find something... anything... in common to talk about, but can't.

The ability to express an opinion that may be different from another is one of the things that make this country (and forum) great. Don't compare it to a zoo.
Experience without good judgment is worthless; good judgment without experience is still good judgment!

What crappy winter???

None around here. We just got back from a two week RV trip - blue skies and 70+ degree days. ๐Ÿ™‚

If this was in ATC section, it most likely would have been deleted already.

X2, and the barking dog post would have ended on page 3 and it is now on page 13.

This crappy winter is getting to everyone.

Maybe he believes in the product and service. Maybe he thinks it's an important message.

Not everyone is 100% money motivated.
