Thought I'd start a new topic for Gate Guards to use for comments. Like the moderator suggested-keep technical stuff, recipes, mechanical, etc. where they belong. Lets hear from everyone sucking down that caliche dust.

Well I have let the good people on this forum know about problems we have had getting service, I now want the say our service man was here last night....we didn't call, he just wanted to check on us. We had plenty of diesel and about 400 gal of water so he told me he had someone about out, if it would be okay he would like to take care of them and will be back in a day or two. That is fine with me, I was just pleased he actually checked on how we were doing.

Considering the economy any opinions as to whether there will be shortages of gate guards once the heat starts? And is there a realistic chance a single person can get work and plenty of it, assuming of course he's a good worker?

There are companies that hire singles (there are some at Gate Guard Services). Some have gates that are tailored for singles-usually they're only open certain hours. Sometimes you are asked to work what is called a slow gate. How you get food and sundries on a 24 hr. gate is a mystery to me. I've heard all kinds of stories. Andy's forum has a list of gate security companies and you can call around. www.myoldrvforum.com

Yes, thank you for removing it before I found it. As you know, this topic is a good one, but there are a couple of things that will get it closed...misinformation is one......

Thank you for removing it before the Mods found it for the 2nd time. Yes, this forum is a wealth of info for us in the field and newbies wanting to join us, so that is why we try to stay within the forum rules. Thanks again.

Sorry people I joined along time ago and did not remember the Forum rules. There were two post because I did not think the first one posted as there was no history in "My post" or a warning that I was not abiding by the rules. My apologies to everyone in the Forum as this is a good way to exchange information and would not want to see it shut down, I just chose the wrong topic, this was not done maliciously.

Thank you Texan for the reminder.

The Texan is 100% right it is in the Forum Rules as my wife just read them to me.

You are going to get this forum closed, if you keep posting legal information from an active law suit. If that is your goal then let us know, so we can find another home, as it appears you are trying hard with 2 illegal post in 2 days.

I really like this forum and there is a lot of good information on here..then every now and then there has to be some
smart----(pardon me)that has to get funny. Well sending a private message because you do not have the guts to put it on the forum for everyone to see just doesn't sit with me. If you want information or have something possitive to add then by all means feel free to PM me. But to get a PM like the one LivinGood sent to me just don't make sence.
I posted about not getting service because I feel that being way out in nowhere they should take care of us, I know Jamie would if we were working out of his yard. We were to work out of his yard but Roger needed help so we agreed to help him.
I did post about getting the******scared out of me by a large Rattler.
The stupid comments PM'd me by LivinGood is way out of reason.
LivinGood's PM to me.
Well....hmmmmm Girlyman....I sure hope the SNAKES don't get you.

~

"Livin Good" is a brick-short-of-a-load agitator/troll, frequenting various forums here, who gets kicks out of sending worthless drivel via PMs.

Gutless? - of course!.:B

Can't stand up to the "heat" from a post that all can see!.:S

DW & I are considering Gate Guarding next winter. I was just wondering if there is anything that we could do now (we live in MO) to smooth/expedite the process when we get to TX? I was thinking if we could do something now-getting fingerprints, etc. maybe things would go faster when we get there.

Thanks!

Also, GGS will not hire you back afer you leave.

It is my understanding that rehire at GGS is up to Sid. I have also heard from reliable company sources that they do rehire. Have you ever thought about the fact that they may be getting rid of the "dead wood" when they consider folks for rehire?? I'm also sure the "good ole boy" network is in place at GGS. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, it's official, we are now setting at a Cadillac gate. The contractor left today and CGP-31 is now operational. We will be here for another couple months while the erosion control is completed, new road and culvert completed and the main fence with electronic gate installed. Gate is now open M-F, 7 to 5 and we will be lucky if we see 10-15 vehicles a day. Love it, considering we have logged in over 15,000 vehicles since we opened the gate on 10/6.
