Anybody have anything negative on this stuff? About to lube my slide rails. Went to Wally World. They had various dry lubes but the main ones were a Camco dry lube and a LW dry lube. The Camco - $9/bottle. The LW - $4/bottle. Just wanna make sure the extra $5 may have been worth it in the long run.

I have been using the LW dry for years on the trailers slide rails, gears, 6pt leveling jacks, anything I don't want to attract road dirt (so basically anything external), without any issues and with good operation.

I use baby powder on the seals at least once a year. RV Geeks I use a pole to reach the center of the seals above the slides.

Have Liquid Wrench dry lube and sprayed it on a squeaky bath room door hinge in my house. Sprayed it twice and squeak kept coming back. Used WD 40 once and the squeak is gone. So much for dry lube stuff.

We never put anything on our slide mechanisms. We used 303 on the rubber around the slides. No problem in 16 years.

Never heard of powdering seals? What does that do for them or protect?
Slide rails on my old camper had remnants of grease on them.
I used chain wax (motorcycle chain lube). Good shear strength and less mess, like the stuff the op is looking at.

Yeah it's tricky one. I haven't checked the slide manuals yet, but if I don't see anything that tells me I should lube them, don't think I'm going to. Or maybe I will. Damnit!!!!! lol

I use a spray dry silicone lube that I buy at Walmart on any moving/joint friction surface. This includes slide tracks, gears, stabilisers, hitch jack, and power awning components.

So far have checked my main Jayco manual. No mention at all in regards to "how" to maintain them but that they are virtually "maintenance free". Need to see if I have another manual for the slides themselves, which I doubt.

It's Polytetrafluoroethylene, essentially Teflon. I have used the dupont brand of this for years on my slide rails and gears. Never caused a problem.

Lowe's has dropped the Dupont version so i bought the wd-40 version. Appears to be the same stuff. I noticed LW makes it with and without the for RV markings

Thanks; I need to check my book. Its a Jayco. Any maintenance forum or youtube video you see says to use a dry lube.

Also for the rubber seals, I saw a manufacturer demo and they used silicone spray on a rag????

My slide(s) mfg. also recommends no lube..........as in grease

Just wire brush rail teeth

BUT...
Since beginning of 2007 I have been using a dry graphite lube spray after wire brushing the rail teeth down. Goes on wet/sticks then drys. Doesn't attract dirt/grim BUT will rub off SO Careful Where you spray it.
Also use it on rear stabilizers pivot/contact areas and front landing gear inner and driven legs.

I spray silicone on a clean rag and wipe down the hydraulic piston shaft.

When FTng I would do the above monthly......past 2 yrs just bi-yearly

Also would put talcum powder in a sock and wipe down slide out seals/wipers
Is it time for your medication or mine?
