I have been using Calgon powder in the black tank for the last 13 yrs but now I can't find it anymore and I am out so what can I use in it's place or do I have to use the expensive tratment tabs and powders from the RV stealers?
Thanks for any and all replies.

I have been using the liquid Calgon. Is there any difference between the liquid and the powder? I would think the liquid would distribute more evenly through the tank.

Thanks!

We have found that Calgon is more available in areas that have hard water, being as it is a water softener. We usually use the Calgon along with Dawn
dish soap.I know "overkill". It is no disaster if there is no Calgon available. If Calgon were to go off the market, the black tank would survive
we would just use more water.

To be honest I didn't know it came as a powder. I always manage to find Calgon liquid someplace.

Do what you like. We like Calgon. 1988 Class-C. Gauges still work and .Black tank looks new inside. Best of luck to you.

Never used it. Never had a problem.
After every clean out I put in a half cup of laundry soap with 2-3 gals of water.
