No new story tonight.... How boring is that?

Well, here I am in FREEZING Calgary Alberta, still....

Another week goes by, temperatures have dropped dramatically in the past couple days. Dang its chilly here now.

It is minus 24C here, and dropping. (-11F) But ahhhhh I am warm in here, furnace runs a lot but it's comfy.

No stories tonight, no more butter in the heat ducts, no more black tank flowing on the bathroom floor!! Nothing! No mishaps or anything..

Tried pulling the cork on my grey tank... forget it, can't even get the cap off the dump pipe. Oh well, I'm still ok for now.

My electric heater conked out a few days ago, the fan seized up. Oh well, plugged in my backup heater and put up with the obnoxious racket it makes for about 3 days now. Argh! No more!

Rather than launch it out the door, I went to the nearby Rona store to buy a nice quiet radiant heater. Thank you Don, you're awesome!

But the thing was HUGE, it occupies a lot of real estate in my skinny walkway past the kitchen. Me and my size 12's would be tripping over it every time I went for a "P".

So I bought a nice compact little Honeywell fan forced deal. It is RED! My favorite color! But the fan is whisper quiet. It will suffice until I find a small sized radiant that doesn't occupy half my living area...

Meanwhile, my furnace still gronks when it starts up. Too danged cold out there to pull this puppy apart and fix it. It's still going, for now.

Anyhow, how boring is this? Ho Hum! Nothing funny to report! BORING!!!

On the lighter side, I treated myself to a nice prime rib buffet dinner last night and then went to a show, one of my favorite old bands from the 70's.
Chilliwack! Yeah loved the music as a young man so I went and enjoyed a bunch of the old tunes. Jerry Doucette was there too.
Great show! Man they are all old and grey! Those who have hair that is!!

My entry door needs new weatherstrip to try and cut down on chiseling the ice off the door frame so I can open and close it. So I bought some today and got back here. Fuddle Duddle!!! Too blinkin cold to work here with my TT door wide open! Ahh maybe later.

Now I'll go see if I can break something so I can write another story!

Have a good evening everyone!

I was beginning to wonder just what you did when you were not sopping up black water, draining your speakers or pealing your undies off the frozen wall.

I find other ways to entertain myself.

Lay on the floor with my heat gun inside the lower cabinet, fanning my kitchen water pipes until they flow again,
Chisel the ice off my entry door frame so it closes properly and opens without tearing it off its hinges,
and a few other forms of RV entertainment!

For nearly every Canadian (living in Canada) this is rv show season and dreaming of camping season. You are truly "on the edge" living in an rv especially in the recent cold snap. I don't even want to go look at new rv's on the lot on days this cold. Hats off to you.

Polar Vortex, Ice Anomaly, Wind Whipper, Rain Rampage, Snow Apocalypse, or some other phrase that makes weatherman sound like a 3rd grader ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hang in there, Bob! We're dropping below zero F here shortly again.

Today was ice in the am, a near whiteout of snow about an hour ago, now it sounds like rain as the snow melts off the roof, and it is dropping below 0 shortly, so more ice. Now I see snowing at the same time.

Spring? I think someone wound the crank too tight and broke our spring ๐Ÿ˜‰

Men..I'm going to throw another shovel of coal on the fire.

Definitely Spring Fever.

Our February has been a yo-yo...temps up, melted our snow cover then dumped on us again, then melted again, now 6 more inches with more to come later this week. Ah that Canadian air is mighty cold and we'll been feeling it too but so far, at least today, not as cold. We'll top out in the low 20s F but if the cloud cover moves off we'll go sub-zero.

It's only winter as all us northerners know...spring won't really be here until late May!

We spent part of the day on the ATV pushing snow to clear a path to spread hay for the cattle and make our barnyards and lanes a bit more passable and when the sun comes back...will melt off quicker.

The worst part is we have calves coming so we are watching them carefully and taking the little ones over to the shed out of the snow to keep them from freezing to death. A calf born onto snow won't last long unless it can get up immediately to drink in that cholestrum and warm up.

But next week looks a mite better so things aren't so bad. We don't get cabin fever nor blue when storms come in...its all just weather and if we can't take a little weather then we aren't up for much of anything else. Before we know it hot dry summer winds will be here with new challenges...fire! So, we'll deal with this snow for a while...happy winter everyone no matter where you are.

Lol, hate to pop Bob's balloon, but I'm guessing opening day of Spring in Knoxville, Tenn will be a tad warmer than up in Calgary...hang in there though.

Actually, I am in Arizona and have not experienced "Winter" 70's &80's daytime. Around 50 at night. :B

Spring!

Did somebody say spring?
Gads yeah, bring it on baby!

Like my mother used to say - It's cold enough to freeze the nuts off a steel bridge! There is another one she used but I can't print it here! haha! Mom had all kinds of funny sayings...

Spring, yes. Can't wait. I have had about enough of icicles and frozen everything.

As for the adventures? I take it all in stride. No point in getting upset when things go sideways, so why not write a funny story about my misfortunes so everyone can laugh at me... I mean with me!

But the biggest thing is, while most of you have your RV of choice winterized, sitting idle waiting for spring, I am out and about, traveling the frozen tundra and living in mine!

Ahh I love it! I wouldn't trade it for any 5 star resort! (drives the DW nuts)
