Odd comments

I do love to laugh and some comments from well meaning people are quite silly. Wondering what is the oddest, silliest thing people have said regarding your rv?

I was washing the moho at my work, a school bus depot. A dispatch lady comes out and says " If you use rain X on the front end you will see a drastic increase in mpgs"

Silly me, I thought the poor mpg was because its 12.5 ft tall, 8.5 ft wide and was north of 15,000 pounds, apparently its because I don't use Rain X, LOL.

HAd a woman come up to me at a gas station while I was filling up my truck. She was in all kinds of a huff because I didn't turn off my pickup. tried to hand her the keys told her it was stuck on!! Had about 50 deg before the turbo timer killed it. She was not happy with me!

Got to talking with a buddy of mine at work. He just got all of his tires replaced and they filled them with nitrogen. Said they would save him a bunch of money that way. I told him me too, but I got the cheap stuff. It was only 82%. He didn't appreciate my humor about that

Doesn't happen often now with everyone using plastic, but my usual response to the paper or plastic question - I'm bi-sackual I can go either way, I'll use your favorite.
Usually take a few minutes before they start sacking my purchases.
I thought this was pretty funny so I tried it yesterday. OMG, what a mistake. The guy checking our my groceries got very excited when I told him i was bi-sackual. He immediately said, "So am I, My name is Lance. What's your name?" Maybe he misunderstood me. Needless to say, I walked very quickly and quietly out of that place and won't try that stunt again.
ROL ROL maybe he had heard it before and turned the tables on you....LOL LOL

Had a young lady with a restaurant shirt watching us fuel and said what a nice rig we had, we must be going on vacation, but she had to work..
My response was, "Sweetie, well I had to work for 45 years...LOL
She smiled....
(Rest of the story)
We ended up eating at her restaurant a week later, Tex-Mex, and it was great!

Had a lady at a fuel stop ask us what kind of fuel mileage do we get with THAT BIG OL'RV? With my most serious face, I replied, "Somewhere around 30 with the Jeep pushing". She had the funniest look on her face like she just bit into a lemon and shrugged and went back to fueling her pickup....

Once, while waiting on an oil change at Firestone, asked them to check the spark plugs on my Dodge Cummins. The kid comes back 10 minutes later looking completely confused and said, "I can't find em, where are they"? His boss finally explained diesel power to him.

You're lucky. My son would have reported back that the spark plugs were missing and let you have your laugh.

For years to come you'd be finding the missing plugs in all kinds of strange places in the truck.

He'd of been laughing longer....

Not RVing but my hubby is the type that can't help but rib friends and family and sometimes poor unsuspecting strangers we meet.

On cruise ship and a woman commented about how do they get all the electric to run everything - he said they have a 1000 mile long cable plugged back in at Miami. She actually went "Ohhh and walked away". Another woman different place different time asked him whether these stairs went up or down = well duh!!!

His latest was a poor young fella that was serving me and struggling with his co-workers around him when at an opportune moment hubby shouted out "don't worry, she only got out of jail this morning". The look on all their faces of pure shock was priceless as they believed him and no matter how much I tried to defend myself you could tell they weren't having it.

I've put up with that for almost 35 years - can you believe it?

After 50 years of camping, 30 years of RV'ing and now in our 15th year fulltiming, I honestly thought I'd heard it all and could only be redundant in this topic.

Au contraire!!!!

We have 2 seed feeders and 2 hummingbird feeders out nearly wherever we are. Today hummingbirds and bees were challenging one another for turns at the feeders.

Passerby asked, "How can you let them do that?". I laughed because he couldn't be serious. He was. Scowled and walked away. I haven't decided which one, but he definitely wins a prize.

I read that as: 50 years camping + 30 years RVing + 15 years fulltiming = at least 95 years old and still out there!!! 🙂

There's gotta be a good comeback involving "the bird and the bees" for that situation.
