pullrite capture plate

Not sure on this but here goes. The capture plate for the super glide attaches to the pinbox of 5th, there is an allen screw and a locking threaded nut. The allen screw is simple enough, but the locking nut can be locked either direction...toward the kingpin or toward the wedge. I have been unable to fine any instructions on this. When the dealer installed the capture plate, shortly after when I was unloading the 5th, the capture plate fell off into the truck box, and now the same thing has happened a 2nd time. Do any of you have experience with installing a capture plate on model #2700 SuperGlide?

I would appreciate any guidance on this.
Thank you kindly

I have the jam nut on the outside edge of the capture plate. I tighten the bolt, then jam the nut against the plate to keep the bolt tight. In 2 years it has never come lose or needed to be tightened further.

Thank you for your replies..... my model is a #2700 .... but looks totally different than the picture posted. I have also read all through the manual with no directions, so I will contact pullrite on Tuesday if no other poster has seen this before.

Thanks again

Yes thank you, I missed that part the 1st time around. It is a 3365 capture plate, and the instructions say to tighten the set screw nut up to the wedge, which is the way I have been installing this.

I am enquiring on this because it has fallen off twice as I mentioned, but also lately there is this crazy squeak noise coming from the hitch I think....as I drive. Difficult to pinpoint when driving. Have any of you heard this from your super glide?

The pictures I posted are what they call a "quick connect capture plate" made specifically for my model of pin box. There are also "multi fit" and "universal" fit capture plates. Maybe you have a universal.

Mine did the same thing several times, I just keep an allen wrench and use a pin lock so it can't walk off
