Seriously... who calls it glamping?

Glamping??? As a woman I know some would think that I would find this new terminology "cute". Seriously every time I read the word glamping... glamper, I want to punch someone in the face. That is the DUMBEST, dorkiest, just down right most awful term for camping that anyone has ever come up with. I just had to post to find out why? Why would anyone refer to it as that? Who invented the term? Does it make you cringe as much as it make me cringe? Sorry, had to vent.

Not me. Nor anybody I know.
Besides, where is the glamor in a 12 year old motorhome?

I have heard the term before. I ignored it then, and I will continue to do so.

X2 and it's stupid but what coming from the media is not?

Glamping is taking your million dollar MH to an rv resort that costs several hundred or thousand dollars a day. These have patios with out door grills and ovens, maid service, cook service, laundry service, etc etc etc. Your neighbor might be Tom Hanks or someone equally rich and famous.

The first time my sister came along with my wife and I, she said we were glamping. She has always camped in tents. Its just a word..

I really don't care what other people call it when they "camp".

If people want to glam up their RV let them it's theirs.

To a backpacking hiker, glamping is a tent trailer.
To a tent trailer, glamping is a fifth wheel.
To a fifth wheel glamping is a big class A.

Sometimes we are glamping when we take our camper on the truck to Borrego Springs RV Resort and pay the price because we like it there.

I don't see a problem at all with the phrase. Although I wouldn't say that the camping I do quite reaches what I would call glamping, I don't know that I would really call it camping either. At least not camping the way I grew up camping.
