If you see fire jump across the outlet when you plug in you know the breaker was still on. Happened to me ONCE and never again.

Hook up dry to wet clean to dirty.
Electric first and as stated turn off the power at the pedestal first.
Then cable/satellite and phone if that is on the agenda
Water next with sewer last.
Then undo in the same order

Not sure what you are looking for. I ALWAYS check podium for correct voltage and polarity. I shut breaker off before I plug in.
I have a hard wired Progressive Industries EMS.
