Still too hot for me to camp in FL now

Wow, camped last week and still miserable hot. One of these days I will learn my desire to camp and the realities of it just doesn't match. As I age the heat sez no and my mind sez yes. Think we will rethink this next year. Btw..our AC is the best thing since apple pie!

Even if camper can't cool down too much struggling in high heat I am fine with it ๐Ÿ™‚ I am a rare one I guess!

I have lived in Florida my whole life and the older I get the less the heat bothers me. I don't mind getting hot and sweaty as long as I can get in the shade or AC to cool down. I love taking our motorhome out during the summer months because I can actually find vacancy! Once the snowbirds get here, good luck finding a campground or RV park that has availability.

I don't think we exceeded 94 degrees here in Englewood this summer; cooler than some previous years. Humidity seemed about normal, high, so the misery index was high. I can tell you all, coming from VA, that 95/95 with no breeze is just as miserable. We camped most of the summer in FL, but I did hide the firewood from my DW.

Actually, it was low 90s all last week. We're 20 minutes north of Crooked River SP. This week should be highs in the mid-80s, lows in the low 70s. Humidity is still very high though.

Ahh! Yep, I was looking at the coming week. We'll be there in January for a week or so on our way to Florida, and I'm sure it'll be a bit cooler by then... ๐Ÿ˜‰

This has been the most humid and hottest summer in Florida!

I moved here a few years ago and everyone said "ahh you will get used to the heat".

Sorry. I'm here to tell you all, NO you don't get used to it.

What really happens is that you stay inside with the air conditioning on from May to October....and do not emerge until the summer is over.

Sometimes I feel like a ground hog stuck in his den. Only waiting to come out in winter instead of spring! :B

We are heading down to Punta Gorda area end of October. Hoping for nice weather just not too hot. Would like low 80s during the day. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah, we just got back from a summer in Maine and the North Carolina mountains... it sure is hot here. Record high temps daily since we got back on Monday. Next year ( I say this every year) we won't be back until mid-Oct at the soonest.

We are headed back to FLORIDA after being away since June.

Enjoying fires in 60 degree weather, few
thunder storms and awesome fresh produce.

I dread it. Probably wonโ€™t cool down until Feb.
