Toilet Question

I notice that many of these dometic toilets come with something called "hand spray."

What exactly is a hand spray? I'm imagining some kind of wand that allows you to clean the bowl when you're done? Is this a plus or something to not really worry about?

I'm looking at the 310 model as an example.

Used mine a couple of times when the rig was new...12 years ago. The novelty quickly wore off and I went back to the "built in sprayer". Became just one more thing to remember to winterize.

Got tired of being SHOT IN THE KNEE with the sprayer after the grand kids used the toilet. This was a play thing for them and used extra water in the black tank. So it got plugged. I have used a spray bottle on the residue to do a wash down if needed for a long time. And enough water to do a decent flush. On--educating the little ones, goes in one ear and out the other.

The hand spray is a hand held sprayer, Just exactly like the one on many kitchen sink faucets (Identical in fact, same catalog number) used to spray down the toilet bowel somewhat better than the built in flusher system does.

On the more serious side, I can see a use for them if you camp with hookups. The throat, if that's the term, between the black tank and the bowl on ours gets pretty messed up looking. We currently drag the house hose through the trailer to spray it out after each trip.

hotwater with an ounce of liquid laundry soap, and let it sit for 10 minutes,at most a quick swish with the toilet brush, sparkling clean every time

noe-place, you are one bad dude. Reading thru all these serious reply's and just finishing off a cup of coffee when I read thru yours. Bad Bad man, coffee on screen and keyboard all your fault.:)

Don't tell me you haven't seen the thread about windshield "wipers" for your laptop screen? Guaranteed to remove coffee and other offensive sprayed materials! However, we are still working on the keyboard cleaning accessory. :R

I'm surprised no one said its for washing dishes... My friend showed me that your handheld shower sprayer may reach over to the toilet. That sure would have been a lot easier than a fork.

I changed the nozzle on mine to a single narrow tapered tip nozzle. It's almost high pressure.

That's why I created my own with a few basic parts. It is a real hose and has lots of pressure vs. a sink sprayer.
