Where do you wash your camper - not at home!

Our family is about to move from MA to WI, and our new home has everything we want in a home - except a driveway long enough to hold our trailer. We have always stored our trailer at a lot, so this was not a huge issue for us, but we have always brought it home to wash it, which we will no longer be able to do.

For those of you who are full-timers, don't have space at home, etc... How/where do you wash your rig?

Lots of folks use truck washes.

Mobile wash is another option. (check prices)

Used a do-it-yourself coin-op wash in Vegas once that had "balconies" on both sides about 4-5 feet off the ground, stairs at each end.
(only one I've ever seen)

It was great for doing the roof and upper portion of the sides.

Welcome to WI. We wash ours at the truck wash in Johnson Creek,WI. It's at I-94 and highway 26 about 45 miles west of Milwaukee and 30 miles east of Madison. They do an excellent job. Wash and spray wax, 48-58 dollars, depending on who is the cashier that day, I guess. Ours is 37 feet.

We (rather I) always wash at home in back yard where RV is stored. There is a Blue Beacon truck wash at I-75 exit near us and they do RV washing.

Might find a car wash with a detail shop, theyll generally give you a good once over or a detail job, whatever youre willing to pay. Thhey all like money.

We keep ours at a storage place and they have a guy with a mobile wash. Costs us $28 and he does a great job!

Wash it at home and make it a party. I have the kids and their friends wash it in the driveway and they do a real good job. The promise of a pizza party after all their hard work pays dividends. Cheaper than the truck wash and much better. I get to supervise and order the re-do areas. Good fun and everything gets washed. It dries and I put away while they eat.

I very rarely wash ours. The dirt goes a long way towards protecting the paint from scratches and fading.

Well, every time we go camping, I wash something. I'll take a small area and just do that small area. I figure, by the end of the summer, I'll have the entire camper washed. This last week-end I took an old toothbrush and went completely around the camper where the bottom skirt joins the top side. There's a little trim right there that catches dirt (on the calking). So this last week-end I took a tooth brush and some soapy water with paper towel and cleaned (just) that line than run all around the camper. It took about 45 minutes. But that one little detail made the entire camper look cleaner.

So, I never use (when camping) a hose. It's always just a wash cloth with a bit of water in a bucket and follow with a dry cloth. Little bits at a time. Next time out, I want to wash the sides of the slides that move come inside the camper. They are beginning to look a little dirty. Easy to wash, since it's just rain spots and stuff.

So, little bits at a time ... baby steps and eventually the entire camper gets clean.

I wash our TT at the storage yard. Make sure the water tank is filled and attached the hose with nozzle to the outside shower/tap and it works fine. I do hook up the truck and leave the truck running so as to not drain the TT battery running the pump. Works for me.

Some truck stops have do it youself washes. Some car wash locations have a bay large enough for RV's.
