Ok everyone im going bonkers looking at reviews and trying to decide what camper will be our next, gonna look to the internet for opinions (yeah prob not a good idea) but here goes.
Want to upgrade to a larger unit, currently have a jayco 16xrb.
I want to stay with a hybrid (i think) i like the roo/shamrock 21ss but cant find one locally (within 150 miles) can find a forest river 221st which has the same floorplan in jersey though. My wife wants a regular TT so we found the keystone passport 2400bh and the cruiser rv shadow cruiser 240bhs, now i have a problem with reading reviews, and of course there are only bad reviews ever so now i cant decide what to do. our requirements are for a regular tt are one slide, large rear bunks, under or close to 5klbs under 28', 500ish lb tw. for a hybrid are large slide, 2 bunks. My wife doesnt like the tent ends and im starting to like the outdoor kitchens that the TT have, i keep flip floppping and im going crazy. between the cruiser rv and keystone i like the options that the cruiser rv has but i keep seeing a ton of bad reviews of them in general not on that specific unit, but now the more i look i see alot for keystone also, theres even a fb page for how bad they are. feel free to comment however you like, you wont hurt my feelings lol

You're going to find for every single negative review, there are hundreds and hundreds of satisfied customers that never say a word.

So I'll say it... I'm on my 3rd Thor Industries TT. Dutchmen, and 2 different Keystones now. I'm happy with all 3 of mine.

The problem "newbies" have with camper and why they are so quick to post, is because they, most likely, don't understand the commitment needed to keep a camper nice. It starts from the very beginning.... care and maintenance. And unfortunately, far too many purchase a camper and expect it be like the family car or a brand new, just built house ... which is what RV are NOT! They get disillusioned immediately and being posting negatives.

All the brands you've addressed in your post are good campers ... it's all a matter of what you make of them. Abuse them, and yes, they become trash in a few days ... really ... it doesn't take long. Treat them right, and they'll last a life-time.

About your choice ..... if you find the camper you REALLY like, distance should be no object! If you cannot travel 150 miles for the camper that really excites you ... well ... I don't imagine you're willing to drive 150 miles to a good campground either. (Think about it!).

If you settle for less than what you really want, you'll NEVER be happy with the selection you settle on. Get what you want, get it now, and get it right the first time, no matter how far you have to drive, or what the cost to do it. As said, if you don't ... you'll never be happy if you settle for second best. Take the family on a road trip on a Saturday and go check it out! Pack your hitch though... you may just come home with a new camper!

My advise if nothing has given you and the wife that real warm fuzzy can't live without it feeling then don't buy anything. You will know when the right rv comes along. Good Luck

If you are not sure you have not walked into the right camper yet. Keep going to shows and camper dealers. Eventually you will walk into one and both of you will say "this is it". That is when you will find out you need a bigger towing vehicle!:)

We love our Surveyor 245 BHS. It fits most of your requirements and I believe quality is higher than the other two.

Only choose a hybrid if you want to sleep under canvas. Otherwise, there are plenty of regular travel trailers that are comparable in weight.

We love hybrids and the one in my sig is our second one.

But the reality if mama ain't happy, nobody's happy. Let her make the final decision.

When all is said and done, the "bad" reviews are the exception not the rule. Doesn't mean you won't get a lemon, but realistically whatever you buy will last you a long time and you'll love. You'll base decision on floor plan over all else.

Since he already said that he can't tow something much bigger that what he's looking at, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he actually knows what he's doing.

How many bunk beds? The KZ Spree 240BHS would seem to meet your requirements in a triple bunk bed trailer, the KZ Spree Connect C231BHS is a great dual bunk bed model. We owned a triple bunk non-slide 240BH-LX for 6 yrs, no significant issues at all. ๐Ÿ™‚

Truer words were never spoken! :W

Do yourself a favour and save your own life ... you wife wants a travel trailer, not a hybrid, so get a travel trailer! :B
